LOL... Im ok... I dont have a sun roof. Fair enough on the windscreen and windows though.

They'd have made a fortune on the motorways last night for those cars stuck 'cos the ******* didnt send any gritters out!

yep-saw a senior police officer interviewed about this earlier and saying how dangerous it was,but didnt realise they were actually gonna start fining people.
#11
Proof?

Better hope you dont get caught in a heavy snow storm when driving or you will need to stop every 5 minutes to scrape the snow off the roof.
#13
The grand sum of 0 people will receive an FPN(E) for this!

It's a chain email / spam thing that went around earlier in the year too.

Yes, if you didn't clear the snow off all your windows and had excessive amounts on the roof, you MAY get stopped by the police, but don't believe every bit of spam you get

Hold up guys! There's a bloke in Nigeria that says he can get me $598,000,876,000 if I send him my passport. I'll get that money then pay off any fines you lot get. It's true because my next door neighbour's gran who knows someone who works in an embassy in Nigeria told her. And I got an email.

I bet it's because people are storing illegal immigrants under the snow and driving them around the UK

But that's completely different. That's a common sense warning for idiots to follow. What we're discussing is an age old spam text/email that's been doing the rounds since time began

LOL

“Any large amount of snow could slide from a moving vehicle and onto a footpath or roadway possibly causing danger or injury to other road users or pedestrians.”

But its ok to scrape it off - or should you pack it away in the boot?

No you've missed the point. Driving with snow on the roof can be dangerous and you could be fined if the police thought you were driving a vehicle that was unsafe.

However the emails, texts and FB messages going round are just spam. No police force has specifically said it will be going out of its way to target drivers with snow on their cars. It happened earlier in the year (around October) it happened in January and it's happened in previous years. It's just spam

Easy way round it is to drive as quickly as you can, brake really hard and then the snow flies off. Better safe than sorry
