Poor fish..

On holiday in Poland at the moment.

Went to Tesco here only to notice huge water tanks by the fish section, the moment I walk past I hear a thud only to see a poor wee carp being whacked to death, seems you can pick your fish and have it whacked in front of your eyes. No fish love here :(

Proper way of doing it.

Probably less cruel than the way 'we' kill our animals before they are shrink wrapped and sent off to the supermarkets!

report them to rspca - its tescos -:w00t:
jeez wish we had 1 here cos i would

imagine what a little 3yr old would think - freak them out

in france they have fish shops and the tanks with lobsters have these huge kettle type elements in them-you pick the lobster you want and they flick a switch and boil them right in front of you! weird!

What a dim post. Isn't it BETTER to kill them quickly rather than starve them of oxygen slowly?

weird and wonderful ways!!

standard no issues to be had, do you want it fresh or not!!!!

Good, they should do this. Kids need to know that the meat they are eating doesn't magically come from the 'meat fairy' all wrapped up ready to bung in the oven.

Doesn't bother me that much, actually found it more interesting than anything else. I think you can choose to have them whacked or keep them alive so you can kill them later. Most of the ones that were whacked didn't seem very dead to be honest so I think they ended up suffocating.

Just found it strange that they would do this in the middle of the store for everyone to see.

[email protected] "meat fairy" - btw did you see Father Ted last night, I must have seen that episode a million times, but it still makes me howl:p

Yep, it's the biggest lingerie section in Ireland so I understand! Love it!

You idiot. How do you think the fish get from the sea to your plate?

I'll tell you this, at least one part of the process involves the fish dying

I am reporting you to the rspca for eating fish
