We've recently bought a static caravan from a site near Lancaster / Yorkshire Dales. The site manager has installed a new digital aerial and last weekend we went up with a tv with integrated freeview. I completed the initial auto tune (in the evening) and only 15 channels were picked up. It picked up all the BBC channels no problem and I was really impressed with the picture. However none of the ITV channles were picked up plus a few more like E4 and Channel 4 were missing. When I tried to retune (in the morning) it managed to pick up the ITV channels. Great I thought until later that evening when the channels slowly started to freeze until I lost them entirely again. Any thoughts on what is causing this. The aerial has a booster. Could it be the aerial allignment? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Had exectly the same problem with my Freeview. Moved from one van to another and i lost channels, some would come back some would not.

solved it with a new aerial cable - decent one not a tesco value - now get all the channels when i scan.

try that

Try another booster in your caravan I have a booster in my house...You switch it off and no signal great when its on though. Might be worth buying one you can always take it back...Good Luck

we had the same problem with a tourer van, had a big aerial like this one Linkhttp://www.argos.co.uk/wcsstore/argos/images/5341829A65UC256602M.jpg
but the cable sucked, replaced the cable problem solved.

It could be the alignment but only if the wind is able to move the aerial.

It could also be that the area you are in just has a very poor signal and you'll get a signal when the weather conditions are right. Something could also be interfering.

I think you're using the Winter Hill transmitter which is currently having problems and looks pretty rubbish anyway

It's also worth using a compass to make sure that your aerial is pointing that way

You need a larger aerial mate - with an extended pole.
