In December 2012 myself and my girlfriend were involved in a crash on a public bus with a car that basically changed lanes and went into the bus. due to the crash numerous elderley people were injured 2 rather bad and my girlfriend injured her arm slightly but being in care as a profession went on to help the injured people until the police arrived. we gave info at the scene and a few months later we were sent forms asking us to detail info on the incident such as descriptions of people and to draw a diagram with what direction the car came from etc.

Anyway, today my girlfriend has received a call from the insurance company that represents stagecoach buses, they are chasing up compensation for all parties on the bus. the person has given my girlfriend there number and they are ringing back next week to see what we want to do, but they have asked that if we want to persue the claim to get the incident number and flight number of the bus.

any idea where to go with getting this info, i was given the police number 0161 856 5902 to ring but there is nobody there

any help appreciated

you can either go with the solicitors representing stagecoach as a class action claim against the third party driver or you can instruct your own solicitors.

surely the driver ofe the bus would have got the third party details or the police would have them

You would imagine the insurance company if it really was acting for stagecoach would have that information to hand as it will apply to everyone on the bus...

well i thought that, which is why i asked the other half if she has a telephone number for them

i called 101 and managed to get thru to who i need to speak to. however a stumbling block seems to be that they need the date it happened and im unsure on the exact date. seem to think it was between the 3rd - 6th of dec but that could easily be wrong

has to be an easier way than this,

Was your girlfriend injured? Easiest way is to not claim any compo really.

Talk to stagecoach. Are you sure the call was from their agent?

as above, seems odd they need that sort of detail if they're actually acting on behalf of stagecoach. The date of the incident is definitely something they should have known. Sure its not just someone fishing for business based off a news report or similar?

police attended - they would have all the detailson the police report which the real res of stagecoach would have by now.

fyi if your gonna claim injury you have 3 years from the date of the incident todo so- so you should decide now. even though u have some time left its better for you to claim now rather than leave it to the last minute.

Flight number of the bus? X)

If it's genuinely solicitors acting on behalf of Stagecoach, they'll know the date won't they?

Was it in any local newspapers at the time? If so, quick google search should bring it up and give you the date it happened. Then call the police back with the date and get the relevant info you need.

I think it was the SC586 Manchester to Alicante.

I take it if this was true there would of been a thread started about it at the time :|

Why would you think that? A minor bus collision that injured a couple of pensioners is hardly news of the century. What exactly would people be discussing about it?
