Possible food poisoning??

I have had some soup from Tesco finest range today, within about an hour had some crippling stomach pains, and have been quite unwell since then. It's the only thing I have eaten today so know it's nothing else, though obviously could just be a bug. Would you let Tesco know just in case it's a bad batch or something?? (BBE date is 23/12/09) Before anyone says it, not after any kind of compo. Still have the other half of the tub so could be tested.

Would you do something about it or just leave it and not buy again lol!!

Well I would contact Tesco

Its unusual for food poisoning to start so quickly, could it be something you ate yesterday?

Wouldn't be the soup in that short amount of time.

I agree that probably something you ate about 24 hours ago as takes that long to trace through your digestive system.

Id e mail food standards agency myself to alert them to the potential situation

Depending on what youve eaten it can start in under an hour as food stays in your stomach for about 20 mins

Have a look at this for possible reasons:

The Food saftey courses I did for various jobs say food poisoning starts in under 12 hours, after that time any food would already have passed through your system

But the bacteria are still there breeding ready to attack.

And if thats the only thing you have had today then starving yourself can cause stomach pains.
