I probably should have read the article?

tbh Liverpool cant do any worse then then gaffe's in our game last night...regardless of whether the ref made some "questionable decisions" we handed porto 2 goals what a joke

The likes of Liverpool being in the Europa cup over the coming years can only be a good thing for it.

Yeah, it is.

No Maxi, Carragher, Torres or Mascherano, so team will be something like this:

-------------------Reina-------------------

Kelly---Agger---Kyriagkos---Aurelio

------------Aquilani---Lucas------------

--------Kuyt---Gerrard---Riera--------

--------------Babel / Ngog--------------

Unirea put out their first team against Northwich Victoria (?!?) earlier this week and only won 1-0, so I'd hope for a 2-0 or 3-0 win tonight. Although how we've performed this season anything is possible (and Unirea did have decent results against Rangers and Sevilla in the CL).

Team looks ok...Midfield is always gonna be strong with Stevie G....Defence without Cara or Srktle is a little frail I reckon...but babel should be picked over Ngog...still I reckon theres goals in that team and will be easy enough unless you play terrible...

? All Im saying is to have one of the top 7 of the Premiership in the Uefa/Europa/Egg n Spoon race is great for the game.

Obviously not as prestigious as having one of the top four but its a start. If they can stay in the Carling cup a bit longer next season as well that too would be great.

Seriously, If I was you I'd be a bit more concerned about facing one of the top four, City have already beaten Chelski, Stretford and A***nal (twice) at Eastlands this season.........

i dont understand why people are laughing at the europa cup ??

liverpool never had a chancing of wiinning the champions league if we went out in the group stages or in the semi finals or even the final we still would never have one it liverpool would have never beaten the likes of lyon or barcelona even chelsea ??

but at least going out in the groups we go in the europa cup have have a real good chance at winning it . if we went out in the last 16 or somthing we would be in no competion at all

every cloud has a silver linning :)

Skrtle has been poor for a while now. On current form I'd say Agger and Nick the Greek are our best pairing. Agree on Babel too (for this game at least). He looked bright when he came on against Arsenal, so probably deserves the chance ahead of Ngog.

Come back when you've finished in the top four (or qualified for Europe)...... it's only mid-February you know

the porter
sorry but im pmsl too at this europa league, this can be your new mickey mouse cup like the league cup you was so good at winning :)

Well, if (as I expect) you end the season with just a Carling Cup to show for it, I'd take a Europa League win over that any day :whistling:

Not really the focus of this thread but yeh. Your still in cloud 9. Where is a serious/realistic supporter of Man City?
#18
No but in all seriousness, I would be very very surprised if we beat the scousers on Sunday, with Tevez out and possibly Bellamy as well it would take a miracle given the track record of the likes of Gerrard for cheating around the penalty area.

Go away lol :w00t:

Your the biggest football whinner here, No cheats in the man city side eh.

I nearly laughed when you were all banging on about bagging Torres at the end of the season, do you really think If Liverpool would sell him they would sell him to City, and even If they did it wouldn't be to a british club I don't think, I would be highly suprised.

Do you reckon Torres would go to City? You know the amount of other clubs after him, why would he choose such a small club!

I'd like to see kuyt up top for this game, with Babel on the right. Reckon kuyt would be our best chance of scoring, seen's babel is **** in front of goal and ngog lately.

As I say, we could definitely buy him, its not a case of whether the scousers want to sell him, with no champions league they are in serious trouble debt-wise, they will have to try and palm him off to the highest bidder. Given his track record for injury and general wetness I would value him at around 10-15 million which is easily affordable for us, even if we only sit him on the bench to learn his trade from the like of Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz.

Yeh i'm not feeling babel as a force up front, though Ngog is a better option with European football. Kuyt is probably wise of late.

And he wants us to take him seriously :whistling: I know a couple of Man City fans, they're down to earth and realistic about their team's future. But then you always find the odd nut-job supporter as well

Not sure he does anymore. Because that can't be serious.

Im sorry, Ive clearly upset a couple of you but its time to face up to the debt crisis. If you can hang on to Steven 'Cheating ****' Gerrard at least you'll have a one man team.If im being honest I know Torres wouldnt come to City. He wouldnt pass the medical.

Upset? You nearly made me spit my coffee over my keyboard with what you said being so funny

To give a serious answer - I can't see Torres going in the Summer, but I think one (or both) of Gerrard or Mascherano will.

How does this strike you then ? you give us £5mill and Torres and we give you Wayne Bridge and Micah Richards ?

Its good all round, the young lad gets some champions league, City get rid of a couple of weak links and the Scousers get to strengthen their back line.

Everyones happy.

Or City carry on with ridiculous speculation that they are going to sign world class players in every transfer window for Millions and then nothing comes off because no player who is known and world class will come.
