normally payments require a couple of days to clear but I would check your statement for processing time.

the only way i ever got away without late payment on a payment due the same day was by phoning them explaining i'd got the wrong day and paying immediately with another card in the same name over the phone there and then. Any other time i;ve paid on the day it was due in a branch i got charged - but im talking barclays and lloyds not post office

Ask when you pay. It used to take 3days by cash and 7days by cheque. But now things have changed alot!!!........... Banks can transfer money within 2hours.....:-D

Well the thing is, I will be paying a Post office credit card in one of their branches. The thing is, my wallet was stolen 2 weeks ago, and I have only just received my drivers license this morning. Can they be lenient at all?

Probably best to phone them and see what they say, maybe suggest if you might be able to make a payment over the phone or send them an online payment or pay in-branch? They might let you off any charges if applicable if you contact them and make an effort to get it paid on the day.

No harm in explaining and asking

Hmmm, I just really don't want it to affect my credit rating. Im 20, and literally get it all done by direct debit on my other card, so everything would have worked fine.

So worried right now...

It was to get the money out from the bank. As it is £1500, the bank were unwilling to give me this without valid ID. I am the first to say get it sorted as soon as it is received, and have direct debits on my other cards.

I hate the fact I can't pay over the phone with the Post Office, and unfortunately my telephone banking wasn't set up. All a mess, sigh.

Hopefully it will all sort itself out tomorrow!

I'd have just paid the minimum charge a few days ago to be honest, that way you wouldn't have been charged late payment fees if your payment doesn't clear on time.

We have internet banking these days.. I pay mine via my online banking facility well in advance of the payment date.

Sorry, no excuses for late payment.

How did it go? I hope you managed to get it paid today on time and don't have any charges.
