Post your upgrade offers from vodafone here on this thread (please no 24 month deals 12-18 month only). I didn't do any hard negiotating I assume if I threaten to quit Vodafone I'd get a much better deal.

Sorry can you confirm that it's a Desire or a Desire HD?

It was just a HTC Desire, I don't think the deal is that good really, just trying to find out what deals others are getting offered. Whats the best strategy when negotiating, threaten to quit, quote competitors deals etc etc?

Just found this on the Vodafone forum:

If you wait until your contract has completed, you'll be in a much stronger position. I'm not sure if the auto-answer stull has the "press this if you're thinking fo leaving Vodafone", but choose that rather than "press that to upgrade" - you'll get a better deal.

You couild also ask for a PAC code to transfer your number. That'll tell them you're off and they're likely to offer you deals to stay. If the phone you want is free for new subscribers, a deal should be available, but it's going to be much easier when you can release yourself from you contract

Have a look round and see what other companies are offering there are some really good deals around at the moment.
Ours was due with Orange gave them a call and got
Free HTC Desire HD
500 mins
Unlimited texts
500 mb Internet
£17.60 a month
Only downside is it is for 24 months, but that doesn't really bother me.

Give them a call with all the details you have collected ask to be put through to disconnections dept as they usually have better deals to offer.

Don't for get places like Quidco that are offering money to change companies, factor that in with any offers you put to them.

Good luck

Just remember that a large part of any offer is based on your spend over the last 6 months, everyone's will be different so all retentions offers will be slightly different.

Mine wasn't a retention but a new customer deal.

Free iPhone 16gb
18 Month Contract
75 mins
250 texts
500gb Internet
Free Vodafone to Vodafone calls.

Mins are rubbish but I may upgrade to an extra £5 a month for 300 mins and unlimited texts. Just wanted to close the deal first.

Didnt state what the price per month is without the extra 5 pound upgrade?

yeah iPhone 4. I don't know how easy it will be to get. I had some bloke offer me it who shouldn't have and they have to endeavour it. Were nice enough to give me 2, one for me and one for my husband. Yes 500mb not GB! haha, I'm blond!

I think I will probably just go through quidco or TCB and get the £90 cashback, get on a cheap £15 a month 12 month sim only deal.

Unless they offer me something mad like a free Iphone 4
