Nah, 'tis a pair of 2.5" 500GB drives. I did think of modding a 3.5" 1TB drive into it, but I wasn't sure that I could get enough current out of the USB ports, and I couldn't figure out a way to convert 5v into 12v anyway. It's so long since I studied physics.

It is a nice system, though. It's its first birthday in a few days time, bless it.

Yeah, it was an outlet machine - cost me 1,300 when the same spec was 2,100 on the main site, the only option it's missing is the 8GB ram. The funny thing is I was refreshing the outlet hourly looking for one as I wanted a better deal and there were shipping delays on the model but all the outlet machines were rubbish, low spec and expensive. Eventually I gave up and around two weeks later I booted up the desktop which still had a tab open on the outlet and there was the exact machine I was wanting (bar the SSD). So far I'm pleased with it, the screen very much lives up to its reputation and just makes other laptop screens seem so dull - it's superb for photo editing especially with the beefy c2d processor and SSD.

I really wish it had hybrid graphics though as I don't need the ATI card most of the time and it's quite power hungry, there seems to be no extended batteries around right now which is irritating.
