Thanks Pred - I'd tried googling for a while and obvioulsy wasn't looking in the right place

I think it is Common Scab! SOund delicious doesn't it - lol!

Often promoted by light free draining soils and dry weather in June/July, when rapid tuberisation takes place. We might be a bit overgrown in the potato area - causing this to occur.

Apparently the potatoes are still edible!

We sometimes get that. Just scrape that bit off - you will find it is only on the surface and does not affect the taste of the potato. Enjoy with lots of butter (President BOGOF at Waitrose) with garlic and herbs sometimes to ring the changes!

Thanks to you too

I have peeled the potato and it looks fine under the skin - beauty is only skin deep ;-)

This is the first year we've grown our own potatoes so we have a lot of learning to do X

Thanks again

I really dread that! I hate meat inside my veg! lol

My brussel sprout plants are being eaten really badly by cabbage white catterpillars. My dad said I need to spray them down - too late now!:x

OMG!!

The last time I saw a sight like that was when I looked inside my shorts after a memorable run ashore in Port Said. :whistling:

I will be forever grateful to that marvellous ship's doctor . . .
