I've been stuck on this score for a few weeks :(

If a mod can clean the rubbish posts the thread can get back to topic:thumbsup:
#7
It's a bit rude to call them rubbish... but I;ve removed them anyway :)
#8
Ahhh good, I'm glad someone was taking notes :)

Neon Pro Blue -

Left Hand : 9,876
Right Hand : 11,414

Maybe using the wheelchair gives my wrists a bit of an advantage ? Dunno, but using a leather glove certainly makes it easier to whizz up faster and keep a firm grip. I've also opened mine up and cleaned out a few small bits of plastic swarf, which has also increased my top speed and made the thumb start easier.
#9
That is certainly better than me, left hand dont even go there yet.

Is a glove not counted as cheating cos with weight lifting glove I imagine I could reach near 10000:)

do these things actually any good for you or do they just make your arm hurt?
#11
9231

and that's with the w*nking hand.

*practices*
#12
Do they do any good. I think so it is a form of exercise  .
Btw wont make your arm hurt only your wrist lol
#13
9738! woot!

They help increase all of your arm muscles.
My whole forearm aches after a good session, lol
#14
In the region of 12950 :) :-D
#15
I reckon we should start adding photos of our scores, like they do at powerball.com, not that I'm implying anything !!!!

They *do* exercise the whole arm, as can be witnessed by the aches you will get in bicep, tricep, deltoid, pectoral and quads. Gloves are also legitimate according to the main website - which is where I picked up that tip to start with.

I still haven't bust 10k with my left hand yet, usually achieving around 9k, but can regularly get 11k+ on right.
#16
im alway crap at this, i always get a very low score, i think its because i dont "exercise" my forearm regularly, i get other people to do it for me :p lol
#17
I still dont understand what this is.

I watched the videos and the man makes a "grunt" sound, which isnt too pleasent to watch / listen.

Are these specifically used to make you stronger? If it is then i guess I could do with one.
#18
How many of you use the string though?
CHEATERRRRS!

haha, start it by hand, build it up ;)

Its a gyroscope, which, after being spun up to speed by the string or by the use of a flicked thumb, oyu increase the speed of the spin by rotating the ball in your hand. This uses something called precession (google it) to speed up the spin as you rotate the ball. At high speeds, it offers an opposing force to your rotation, quoted as up to 40lbs at 16000rpm, thus making it a small, lightweight exercise machine.

The Earth precesses, or wobbles, as it spins on it's axis.

Highest score I ever achieved was 13185 a few years back when they came out, since then I've had a few as they tend to start grinding a little when dust gets into them etc.

Bought a solid metal one about a year and a half ago and they spin upto 18000rpm, but sold it (for a small profit) as it doesnt have a counter on it so loses the fun aspect slightly.

Now back onto a neon one, I don't use it very much now but when I get an injury (from playing badminton) I use it to build up the muscle a little, its a very handy piece of equipment.
#21
Where's the cheapest place to get one of these with a counter?
I did post in Deal requests.

Cheers!
#22
play.com are normally well priced, or ebay always has them cheap.
#23
10897 right hand but when the last time I tried with a brand new powerball I got in the region of 12000+
#24
10960 - c'mon the big guns! I'm catching yas!

eta: 3 year old powerball - very dirty :p
#25
I was trying to sell 2 the other day Powerball Neons for £13 each including delivery, but they don't have counters and they kept getting taken off the forun, I just wanted rid cos I'm moving house, anyway not why I was posting

reason for posting is that I have a powerball techno and I wouldn't be able to take a photo of the score, because its displayed in lights across the spinny part of the powerball, how ever it is at the menders at the mo, cos nephew dropped it :(

but they have a lifetime guarantee, so you just post it to powerball people they fix it and send it back for free :-D kind of them
#26
I got mine this morning! :w00t:

Its cool! It all lights up pretty.....oooooooook! lol

Its good, a killer on ya arm tho!! :?

Well, first attempt on right hand i got about 9k.
My second attempt I got 11,121.
Haven't tried left hand yet...

I can only start it with string at the mo. Any tips on starting it on its own??
#27
Yeh i would like 2 know also, only do it with the string at the mo
#28
Hi all,

Can someone give me the differences between the various Powerballs?

There seems to be 'Pro', '250hz' and '350hz' and 'Techno' - I'm confused!

Check out www.powerballs.com.

All the info you need will be there

I got one about a month ago because I was getting RSI in my right wrist (from working with a mouse in IT!) and already the ache has subsided - I would highly recomend one of these for anyone with similar problems

(They are also quite fun as well!)

Hold it in left hand (if right handed), place right hand thumb on the ball on the side nearest your body, push a little and flick thumb away from body as fast as possible, [imagine how you click your finger and thumb and repeat the action on the powerball, then transfer the powerball to your right hand and rotate your wrist in a circular motion to increase the speed of the gyro.

It takes a while to get the hang of it but you'll never need the string again soon.
#32
Cheers, will give this a go!
#33
Well, I've managed to start this off without using the string! :w00t:

My highest score in my right hand is.....
