big deal, children should be getting good reports anyway, If my child got a good report, I would not say anything, as that would be expected of him.

Good to see he is a nice boy

That is really rude! Children should be praised for the good stuff as it will encourage them to keep it up!
Well done little dude:gift:!

I used to love getting good reports and I used to work hard to get a treat. You have the right attitude towards it.

I agree that children should be praised, but personally if my child got a good report, that would be expected from him. I didn't say anything rude, I even complemented the OP that her child is a nice boy, unlike many of todays youth.

Same here, my boy had a fab report. Im really thrilled as last year his teacher said he was struggling and even hinted that he may have a learning problem... Year later, new teacher, amazing comments , brilliant report, I told his new teacher how *behind* he was last year and she was gob smacked saying, there is no way jake has any problem, hes one of the brightest in the class!! I dont think my son performs well if he doesnt like the teacher! LOL

Both of mine have had good reports too.

Youngest is a bit of a handful, but he's done really well at his playgroup nursery this year. I think he's going to find it a shock in September when he starts at the school nursery and is there 5 mornings a week !!

The big 'un is really getting on well too, and has overnight become the politest 4-year-old I've ever known :) He's even stopped moaning about having to wear glasses now too :-D

my childrens bad behaviour is certainly not ignored, so why ignore the positve behaviour, yes we all expect good, doesnt mean it should be ignored.

positive praise and all hey...defo agree with it..otherwise they realise only bad behaviour is taken note of.....

but dont fall into black gerbils little trap u guys! hehe!!

in terms of praise... ok

DS1: awesome singing at the infant concert the school did in the local church.... awww he was a lil star..gonna be five in august...so he is one of the youngest... also... went to school to see his work and teacher was happy and saw he has started writing on his own and writing quite a lot actually... bless him!

DS2: he is 20months old and like his brother doesnt talk much but has started saying 'me!' when i ask who wants x/y/z. also he is really funny! always making us laugh.... so praise to him for being cute! haha

god on ur lil un sassie x

We got both of our kids reports on Friday as well. The younger one is doing really well with good grades and extremely positive comments - only downer was a comment about occasional silly behaviour in his overall summing up. But fingers crossed, he keeps on track. The eldest marks are below average, but he is doing well all things considered.

Praising is important..... but not overdoing it. With the right balance and encouragement, you can do no more.

well done to the little guys of magicbeans, theguv and theporter, credit where credit it is due, they dnt need to come out with top grades to have fantastic reports x

Just like to say well done to my 13 year old son for being chosen for the gifted & talented in sports and for my youngest son who starts secondary school in Sept, they both had superb reports and make me very proud. :)
#25
aww well done to all the lil kiddies!!!
#26
well done :)

had my two youngests reports and both are great, my daughter is above average in most of her subjects

fingers crossed my eldests secondary report is as good when it comes, im sure it will as i received a letter in the post saying he had been moved up to the top set in both maths and english :)

isnt it a great feeling when you get news like this, we must be doing something right!

Heartwarming to see so many kids doing well and just as importantly so many parents willing to praise and encourage.

Personally I don't think you can give enough praise if your child is performing well. We are terrible in this country for not being able to say well done and I love you to our kids.

As for your little guy Sassie, doesn't surprise me in the least, he has a good role model. Well done to you for sticking to it through all the harsh times. Be proud of yourself.

Goes for the rest of you good people also :)

Bitsey that's great with the "Gifted and Talented" Top 5% in the country !! Our young lad here is also part of it, albeit not for sports but academically, and it is paying a few dividends already. Too many meetings and waffle but I'm guessing that will desist to make way for some real benefits.
Do you find the same ??

Respect all :)
