The Government is about to change a tax law which has allowed Play.com and others to sell cheap DVDs sourced from outside the EU.
Play.com , Amazon (Indigo Starfish) etc. use the Channel Islands to post out its DVDs as it is not part of the EU. Anything worth less than £18 avoids tax. Non-internet retailers have protested at the unfairness, so the Govt. will change the limit to £8 in near future. So, DVDs, games, CDs in the £8 - £18 range which don't currently have any tax will leap in price by 20% soon.
