Hi all. I have a built PC that is quite a few years old now but it would still be ok if i knew what the problem was. Its all correctly put together and powers on and runs smoothly. But doesnt output a signal to the monitor. I have another thread on here asking for help.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/694454/no-signal-on-monitor

I dont know what else to do, so i am debating weather to sell it all as one. (faulty, fix it yourself.) or sell the components sepertlaly. I have all the boxes, cables, cd, etc they originally came with.

Processor - AMD Athlon XP 2800+ (Barton i think)
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-7N400-L
Harddrive - 160Gb Maxtor DiamondMax DM Plus9 ATA133 7200rpm
Ram - 2x 512MB 184 PIN 2.5V 400MHZ ORIG (not to sure on the make got Verto Memory Cooling Kit, Purple Fan on them.)
Graphics Card - Leadtek WinFast A350 TDH MyVIVO 128mb (looks amazing)
CD Writer - Asus 52x (not sure on the model)
CD Rom - Asus 52x (not sure on model speed)
Case - Icute from maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/DiscontinuedModule.aspx?ModuleNo=37416 (Side fan no longer there)
PSU - Think i had to buy this sepertally and i think its 350W

I could open the case again for more info if anybody is interested. Thankyou :D

Someone said try the s-video cable but im not sure if i have one.

boot the pc up into safe mode F8 (blindly) as you have no display.
First though connect the samsung 940mw via vga (has the mobo got onboard gfx if so try that vga after you try your main gfx card vga out)

Anyways select PC input on Samsung see if safe mode gives you a display, if not power on/off the samsusng TV select PC mode again (those 940mw are dodgy for realising something is connected)

If you do manage to get a picture in safe mode set the resolution to 1440x900 apply OK and restart computer. Also if it's still no good see if you get a picture at bios level eg press DEL or F2 to enter bios then make sure in bios gfx is set to internal gfx etc

perhaps the video card has died, could get something on ebay for about 10-20 quid that will be more than enough, i assume its an AGP connection

then the main board is knackered!

just not outputting to the vga card, so time to recycle the good parts and move on

This board ?

Seems like the AGP slot may be blown

Unfortunately the remaining components are not really worth anything much... They are only worth what someone is willing to offer.

Maybe get a cheap socket A board from ebay and rebuild you will then see if that was problem.

whats the likely hood of 2 VGA monitor/TV's both having VGA broken on them.

You said you tried 2 monitors
#15
Try another cheapo psu making sure any further power requirements that motherboard has are met

Yh true. Think i'll just try sell it all, doin my head in now lol. My mate said he'll buy it even if it dont work and he'll get his dad to fix it. But how much would i sell it for? If i said to him he just needs to replace the motherboard. Cheers
