Prince's Trust Business Scheme...or a con? ADVICE NEEDED ASAP

got two boys outside who say they are doing the scheme (washing cars) and they trying to get 100 customers. they come round once a month and once they got 100 then they can get business cards etc. they have 68 and the guy over the road has just had his car done by them so i said ok. they come inside to get water. fair enough as its just two lads. but u cant help worry. i guess the only reason i dont think its too suspect is that they want to come once a month so if it was a con surely they wouldnt push that...would they???

You think they would be carrying some official letter.

2 lads under 16 or so would you say? School still on in England, they should be in class!

I think they might just be trying to earn a few quid, and coming up with a "plausible story"...I've seen you, and your fit. If I was you, I would be more worried about them hitting on you than anything else!

yeh I was thinking that, then again you don't want to be lifting any buckets of water and stuff at moment,I'd told them not today and sent them on their way.
Kids come knocking here all time asking if any odd jobs to be done, but you can't let anyone in,might nick off with some comp games or something.

Unlikely to be Princes Trust related imo. Princes Trust will support a business idea and provide support and advice in getting loans to start up a potential business idea. Somehow I cant see a bank manager lending money to start a business that depends on people knocking on doors to get water.
Nice line but not Princes Trust.

well if you fit criteria - go for it - good luck

did notice this though -

Are you eligible?

You must be either:

* aged 14-16, in education, and at risk of achieving fewer than 5 GCSEs grades A-C, or
* aged 16-25 and not in education, training or work (or working less than 16 hours a week)

crap.

like i said earlier, probably would even have ID cards seeing they going door to door within public etc
My partner knows about this and he says they should be doing it for free,we saying about it now,cos he gets kids in from this trust thing at work and it's gotta be voluntary what they do.

Still they just trying earn some cash and if they not stealing nowt from your home, not really any harm done, loads kids knock on doors asking for odd jobs.
