My old Epson C40 is finally giving up and no longer printing very but it has been hammered for the past 4years and i bought it second hand at a car boot for a tenner!

So looks like im going to have to invest.
A great majority of my printing is black due to it being essays, research etc but i do print now and again in colour for things like disc covers etc so an option for colour would be nice, but can be disregarded if needed.

Its got to be fairly cheap to buy around £50 but i want per print to be as cheap as possible!

Any suggestions?

its the rx425, think it was about £40 a few years ago, i have tried cheap compatibles and found them to be crap, but the jet tec ones are brill, last lot i got cartridge people, buy one get one free, and each one has the extra 100% in them two, so each cartridge is like two really, but they where nearly £6 each, but on bogof it works out at £12 for the set of four but with 100% extra in each cratridge so like 2 sets for £12 really, never had any probs with the jet tec but have with the cheaper ones off the likes of ebay, always clogging the heads up etc,etc

sounds alright! i dont mind buying cartridges in bulk when theyre a good deal...my last lot of black inks for my C40 i bought 24 of them!
they didnt last long and were cheap but still good value for money as i paid about 40p each!

the toners cost as much as the printer! :x
works out about 3p a print though...

EDIT:http://www.inkubus.co.uk/product.php/1043/0
found them for £41 delivered so 2.7p per print
