I was due an upgrade from o2 on the 19th of this month. I previously had the 8gb 3g iphone and loved it, so opted to go for the 32gb 3gs @£45 over 18 months. I had to pay £170 (Something) for the phone, but having just looked at my bank balance, the money hasn't gone out, neither is it waiting to go out. Does anyone have any idea on when they take payments? I would have thought it would have been immediately, or at least the money kept aside. Its not a problem, i'm just curious as all my previous experience of card payments is that the money is set aside for the teller to collect.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thats the thing though, the account is in my girlfriends name and the money comes out of her account, yet I paid for the phone with my card.

When I upgraded they charged it onto my next bill however the contract was in my name. Good luck you may get away with it, I doubt it as they will realise in time I think

If I were inclined to though, I could just deplete my account of all money. Thats why I can't understand why it hasn't been set aside. I'm not going to ring them to query. I'll update this topic once any payment is taken.
