My sis has just had the new BT Broadband Router 2.0 delivered and when trying to install via ethernet it keeps on saying that it cant find any wireless adapter or ethernet connection even though it is pugged in via the PC's ethernet port to the routers ethernet port, called BT helpline who were about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike, told me that its a PC hardware problem and the ethernet driver needs to be updated???

I havent got a clue how to update the drivers or where to start!!, when i go to the Device Manager there is a yellow question mark next to the tickbox "ethernet adapter" and when i click in to properties it tell me the driver needs updating, can anyone help please??

Specs are (are right clicking properties on "My computer"

Windows XP SP3
Evesham
Intel R Pentium R, 4CPU
2.66 GHZ
2.69 GHZ
1gb ram

Any help would be much appreciated, cheers

try plugging the old hub back in then open the device manager right click the ethernet port tab and click update driver, allow it to conect to windows update or plug the old hub in and do a manual search for drivers.

let us know if it works

She has the old hub back in and tried that but it wouldnt find the drivers, when she connected the new hub the internet worked fine connecting via wireless from a laptop, so it has to be the ethernet drivers, but i just cant find the updated driver,

I cant remember how to find what motherboard she has, i know how have to go to the "run" option but cant remember what to enter to access the info on the motherboard,
