My problem is this, I ordered X2 sun lounger covers on 30th nov through "buy it now" and paid £9 for delivery total order was £29.96
I had an email from this company on the 3rd Dec stating that the items were being shipped, in their notes they said it should be received within 24hrs but they could not be held responsible for any delays. Not being in any particular hurry for the items I was'nt that bothered how long they took as long as they got here.
I did wait 6 days allowing for the fact that it was xmas and deliveries might be slow, when I received nothing I emailed the company who told me that they had checked with DHL and they had attempted to deliver and left a card, as I had'nt responded the items were sent back to the supplier.
I can catagorically state that I have received NO card through the door at all! and emailed the company back to inform them of that (why on earth would I not respond when I have paid for these goods and am waiting for them to be delivered). They just went on to say tough luck really, DHL would have emailed me also to let me know (again no email received) and in their terms and conditions I should have informed them within 2 days if I had not received the goods.
If I still want to keep them I will have to pay another £9 to resend or cancel the order forfeiting the original delivery charge!
I have phoned DHL who were very polite they could not understand what had happened but they said no problem the supplier will have to ask for a FREE delivery through their local DHL distribution centre (this came from the manager of my local distribution centre responsible for deliveries in my area).
I emailed the company and informed them of what I had been told, to which they said they had been told the total opposite when they contacted DHL. They now want my phone number, which I am not too happy about giving out to discuss further. To be honest I don't want to talk to these people over the phone as I don't really want to get into a slanging match with them nor do I want to pay another £9 for delivery when I have'nt as far as I can see done anything wrong!
I have reluctantly given them my phone number today as it has been a week since the last email and I have heard nothing. Does anybody know what my rights are in a situation like this, it seems to be their word against mine and I don't seem to have any defense, its all making me quite mad!
