hi thanks for the reply
right ive got it on my network but cant get it on a different network eg family house
any ideas?
im useing dyndns.org but unsure if im useing it right or not?
any ideas?
thanks

right the dyndns part is just so you don't have to know and type in your routers external ip address to use the server(cctv) remotely, it sometimes takes time for dyndns servers to update so be patient.
i don't know this router intimately, im more used to feeling my way round them as there are so many diff types.
the problem sounds like a port forwarding issue, this is best if you have fixed ip addresses on your local network, then its more stable as a power cut may end up with your pc being assigned the cctvs last address, fixed ips will prevent that.
can u tell me what ip range your router is using locally?.

[quote=sme24185]My ip I'm using is
192.168.1.67
And
93.96.223.88
I can get it on the 192 but put the 93 one in and just give me router set up
Went on to a site and put my ip in and it say the port is closed but no where on my router can I find what to do?

How do I get a fixed ip and would it be free?
Router I have is o2 wireless 2
Thanks

wow ur up early,
when i say fixed ip i mean on the local network, there is usually a place in the router config pages where u can assign ip addresses to specific machines so they don't change.(might be in advanced settings like the bt routers
You can do this at the pc end but not sure about your cctv unit so best try router first.
take and post some screenies of your router pages if you cant find it

The port I'm trying says it close can't get it to open?

be careful not to get side tracked here, im assuming the initial port is http:8080 or is there special instructions for using the cctv remotely?
also its hard to diagnose if you don't have a secondary connection make sure the wifi is switched off on your iphone so it is definitely using the 3g network.
so ideally you need the router forwarding incoming http connections to the cctv,

My port is 8841 my http port is 80
As I say I've got it on my internal network but I've tried turning wifi off etc put in my dyndns details and also the 2 ip address but no thing also tried it at my family house no thing
I went on that website to see if ports are open but both are closed so rang o2 but they no good said they can't help me so unsure what to do?
