Hey everyone.

My parents got a 42'' Samsung PS42Q96HD from currys about 3 months ago. Just noticed that down the right buttom side the picture is, I dont know how to explain it, when white is on the screen, that part of the screen is fuzzy pink, when blue is there it is a different shade, and its fuzzy.

Any advise?

I would tell them that when the screen is white, part of the screen is fuzzy pink, and when it's blue, there is a different shade, also fuzzy. :)

In all seriousness, you don't have to be technical. Just let them know you want it 'Sorted'.

To be honest they will probably understand a non-technical explanation better, I think you're best just phoning them up and just telling them as it is.

Not sure but is this something to do with magnets ?
Do your parents have a Hi-Fi speaker next to the telly ?

I remember the same thing happening to a telly of mine and that was the cause.

My advise is

DONT LET THEM TAKE IT AWAY...and if you do take photos of it, mine was scratched up when it was returned and the fault still audible, came back saying nothing wrong with it....

they strapped it in the back of the lorry loose and it was scratched on the metal straps, looked like it has slid around a bit as well

Took about 12 hours of my time to sort this out, and it wasnt until the CS manager at Tech team picked the phone up and slammed it down saying a very rude **** off (and didnt even know it was me!) that I got anywhere!!

Ok, here is an update. Techguys came last wednesday, installed two new parts, it made it worst. The complete screen now had different coloured lines through it. They said they would come back next tuesday with a new part, but today the tv has blown, it just made a big bang and made the electrics trip. Not even the stanby light comes on now!!!! :-(

Phoned currys they dont even want to know, they just said they cant do anything till tuesday, anyone got any advice??

Bryan i would phone them up tomorrow and ask to be put through to a supervisor or the team leader and give them hell that is the only way you get anything done nowadays tell them you want a new set delivering straight away and do not settle for anything less m8.
