PS3 60gb Flashing red light + 3 Beeps - Disc Stuck - Help!!!

Well last night I my PS3 grew little wings & moved towards the beam of light.

Unfortunately it left the shiny silver disc inside it & wants to take it to the grave.

I really need to retreive the disc as I don't want to buy a new game as well as the console - please if anyone can advise how to do this

Annoyed that Sony cancelled 'Continous Play'', really wanted to keep machine as in A1 condition (I really mean not a scratch or mark on it)

If anyone knows if its possible to give the machine the 'Kiss of life' & save buying a new machine, please help!!!!

Many thanks for looking
Andy

This happened with my sons, to get the disc out he turned it off at the back , then had to hold the eject button down continously while turning on at the back, when it powered up it was very noisy but did eject the game.

Same typa thing I did,

At the back of the ps3 theres on and off switch
turn it on at the back
then press and hold the eject button for 5 sec

0844 736 0595 is the number to call, explain to them about goods being fit for purpose.

...oh I do sincerely hope it wasn't a mucky Blu-Ray movie that got stuck...then you can't even send it to Sony without fear of them chuckling...!!!

If you have continuous play, you can still claim off that.
It is closed to new users only.

Sony REALLY need to step up and provide a 3 YEAR YLOD warranty like Microsoft have done with RROD.

Microsoft had to simply because of the numbers involved that were dying within a year or two of being sold.

Although nice if it were implemented, Sony have not had this sort of problem.

The common problem is still there though. And it would be nice to see Sony act upon it, instead of trying to charge over £100

It depends what you call a common problem? It may be common in 4 year old machines yes.

Well my first PS3 (60GB launch) YLOD after about 18 months. Now on second PS3 and got a 80GB model as backup.

The 40GB models (the ones that came out after the 60GB) are very prone to YLOD and they've not been out 4 years.

Hi, best thing to do is find a local console repair person who'll probably fix it for around £40.

Got my mate's fixed for £40 and he got the game back that was stuck inside also. Was done 5 months ago and no recurrence of the problem since.

Gumtree is good for people advertising their services so just check wherever's closest to you.
