I have a PS3 downstairs, has about 2 years worth of saved games on it.

Getting my son one for upstairs - is there anyway he can access the saved game data from the PS3 downstairs - and vicer verca?

the house is all linked up for media sharing

I think you'll need to copy the saves manually between boxes.

Pretty straighforward but not too convenient I grant you.

i thought that might be the case.

didnt know if you could select where the games are saved, save them on the network?

All game saves can be saved onto usb.
I think everything can be saved as a backup onto a hardrive and restored onto the other one, moving everything.
As of this post no ability to save on network is available.

The trophies update on both, you just have to worry about saves but that is the same with wii and xbox 360.

You can do a full ps3 data transfer including game save, music, photos nearly everything. You need a Ethernet cable for that. You can see the tutorial on YouTube it's called Ps3 data transfer. I did it 2 days ago.

some game saves wont transfer and will be locked to the ps3 they were created on.........thats what i herd anyway.
