turn it off and clean it around the eject button carefully... maybe it is sensing some rubbish on it and mistaking it for finger pressure on the button... not sure what else to suggest pal.

you have 2 options
1. send it off to sony for 140 quid (i know its a ripoff)
2. Open it up and try fix it yourself

try emailing sony. my hubby had a problem with his ps3 recently and they responded within the hour of sending them an email - it was a sunday too! they advised us to ring them, which we did (still on the sunday) but they told us it was unrepairable. We bought a reconditioned one from them for £145, and they delivered it within 2 days and took the old one away - we had a brand new £40 game still stuck in it. They have promised to send us the game back if they can remove it, if not they will replace it. this is where we are at now.

Went to a local repair shop and the guy suggested its something to do with "timing" not sure if he's just trying to make some easy money or that's the actual problem. he offered £40 labour plus parts.

Done all that don't think i'm willing to pay £145 for a refurbished PS3 as well as giving away my PS3.
