PS3 Game from Tescos

I've just bought a PS3 game from Tesco's and got home and opened it and there was just a blank TDK DVD-r disc in it!
The pack was sealed when I got it.

Anyone else have this happen?

Chances of tescos giving you a replacement will be slim

While they're likely to regard it as a highly unlikely story, if the OP has genuinely had this happen then they have every right to demand a replacement. It wouldn't be Tesco's fault if it was sealed, but it's their repsonsibility to deal with it. I find it a little hard to believe, but I'm not going to sit here and call the OP a liar as there's every possibility that this could be the case...

I know that if it was me, I'd be fuming! Especially since Tesco is now shut and I'd have to wait till tomorrow to get the situation resolved.

Either a liar or ring up the company making millions of those discs as it might be a bad batch - If you're lying though they will know.

had empty ones before when I worked the music and video desk in asda, but never a blank dvdr.

Speak to the manager - but chances are you will be called a liar as its highly unlikely

FFS I AM NOT A LIAR
I have rang tesco customer services and explained and they said just take it back for an exchange.
I did not post this on here to be accused of being a liar, when I explained to CS they didnt seem too bothered and said it was probably a bad batch.
I am worried about the store exchanging it though, exactly because of some of the replies I've got on here.

Chill! Nobody here has actually accused you of being a liar... They're only guessing at how it may appear to the staff at Tesco. When I used to work at Blockbuster, people tried dodgy things on all the time so I'd be inclined to be suspicious if someone bought me that back with your particular story!

I went to buy 5 Park Drive tipped for my Dad when I was a kid. When he opened the packet there was a block of wood in it :)

They were speculating, more than accusing.

Paid £120 for some prescription glasses, they broke after 3 months - took them back and they said they were the ones bought over the counter for approx £10.00. I swear to this day that they were the ones they supplied me with - they didn't believe me and in the end we reached slalemate. I kept saying that I wouldn't have embarrassed myself by bringing them back if I'd have known they were cheap ones. These thinbgs do happen, I hope you get it sorted - It still bugs me today.....

It seems nobody know you can RE-SEAL the package??

Used to work in Currys, it happened before, people buy the game and take the disc out, re-seal it, and get a refund. Nasty stuff.

Now days retailers all say you only can get a refund when it's faulty.

Took the game back in this morning and they opened another 3 games, all had a blank TDK DVD-r disk in, the 4th one they opened was a game disc.
They have cleared the shelves of the game and are sending them back.

You may find the blank disc more enjoyable

Sounds like someone at the factory is pinching discs. I wonder if there is a checking process in the production line that requires a disc in the case....

Glad you got it sorted.

probably done on weight, too light ie no disc, and they get kicked off the line.
used to work in a nappy factory, and thats how they ensured the correct number of nappies in a bag.

Or they did and didn't care :whistling:

Seems a long way to go to get £20-£40 but I guess some people are sad enough to do it! :w00t:

Yup, a bad batch, so you were not lying. :)

It will never be one bad disc, it's either a few hundred, and sometimes if a whole container is bad it's basically thousands of potential black DVD-Rs.

When you are producing crates and crates daily of games, they will always get through.

Nice you sorted it out though, the chances of it though are so bloody rare.
