Not sure what you mean bud? My playstation is always plugged in but not constantly powered on.
There's nothing wrong with my externals as they work fine in my laptop. It's just my ps3 has randomly stoppped reading anything now!
I've read a few forums but with no luck in finding an answer!
One guy did say about having this problem, so he used a sperate usb hub to plug into and it works fine! :?

Have a go at unplugging it completely, leave it unplugged for a little while.

I always keep them unplugged unless I need to swap some data over! I've done this for three years now without a problem, music, pics and videos.
I'll just have to e-mail Sony.. Maybe the hardrive needs a reformat? I could try that too..

I'm on about the playstation not the drives, I am on about removing power completely to let the ps3 internal memory clear. Its a long shot but might be as simple as a memory error.
