Do i need the navigation controller as well?
Do i pre- order now or do i assume it will become cheaper quickly?

What do you think?

I'm not a big fan of motion controls. It just seems like it will be needlessly implemented into games. Just how 3D is needlessly implemented at the cinema. However with Playstation move I have seen some potential for it in the form of Echochrome 2.

Some games will use just the main ("Motion") controller.
Some games will use both the "Motion" controller & the sub ("Navigation") controller.
Some games will use two "Motion" controllers.

The "Navigation" controller can be replaced by using your SIXAXIS™ or DUALSHOCK®3 controller, but I would doubt whether that is comfortable or easy to use for prolonged periods.

You will also need a PLAYSTATION®Eye (camera) if you do not already own one.

ShopTo.net dropped their prices on the new controllers again today...

Motion Controller: £27.85
Navigation Controller: £19.85

As the release date gets closer others will follow suit in order to gain your custom by attracting you by lower prices for the peripherals (where there is little profit to be made) with the intention of selling the higher cost (& more profit-heavy) game titles to you at the same time.

FYI: I have provided some more details of the new motion-controlled technology (& also of the existing Nintendo products) in this thread:

To me it just seems a little too much like the Wii although i'm sure the HD and online make it a safer bet it just seems too little too late, I think Kinnect has potential but i'm concerned Microsoft haven't been able to convert potential into a product that lives up to the hype they have created.

I owe all 3 consoles btw.
