If you dont get any joy there are a few places in the UK that will repair an NTSC console for you.

One HERE

I think that they may make up a serial number to fool Sony if it's a non UK model.
#15
I can't find an online HK warranty but the US one states specifically the warranty is only valid in the US and Canada. No harm in giving Sony a phone though, you may be lucky.

il give them a call tomorow and hope they sort me out. if they cant will they charge me to get it repaired?
how much isit?
will i have any waranty on the repaired one?
#17
what if i register at continuos play? i cant find CECHA12 model number though. would it matter if i put my freinds uk model than claim using my ps3?

I've no experience of out of warranty repairs with Sony so I've honestly no idea of the cost. Sony seem to be somewhat generous with their warranty repair although I'd be surprised if they'd repair an NTSC console as they simply don't have the parts, your PS3 variant was never sold in Europe never mind it being NTSC.

what about the swap at door thing? can i do that with continuos play?
#20
Technically no, it just depends on what checking Sony do - the impression I get is that they're pretty lax but I can't say for sure. The terms and conditions state it doesn't cover your model so even if they do take it and give you a PAL one you might find yourself in bother.

called sony. i was giving the seareal number then the end part which is CECHA12 and he goes they dont do tem because its not a uk one.
#22
best thing is to sell ps3 as faulty. or phone SOny up and say you moved? ask about exceptions etc
#23
the guy said he couldnt put CECHA12 on the system because it doesnt exist here. im thinking of selling it faulty than buying one.

I would have made a fuss and said that you had been living in the states and just moved back, then asked to speak to a supervisor and arranged something. You would have had to pay though or even let them refer you to a third party.
