PS3 Slim 120gb: Faulty: How much would I get?

It wont upload the new 3.60 update, ive tried everyting like usb upload etc.

Any ideas? because the money will go towrds buying a new one.

the drive etc seems fine.

did it by ethernet then as that failed tried by usb pen drive :-) it stops at 99% downlaoding everytime then pigs back an error of data corrupt, not sure if its the hard drive or the firmware??

mine wouldn't update via the wifi but got it to by Ethernet how old is it

sell it to cex / or gamestation ?

If it's stuck in a continuous loop, then you should be able to get it to a state where it plays on whatever firmware you had last on it.

Remove the hard drive, and format it in another PS3, or with a SATA enclosure.
Then put it back in the 120GB, and follow the instructions to format it with the old firmware.

You could then sell it with the proviso that it is stuck on that the firmware, so no new games or PSN.

Do you have a receipt for it? It's worth taking it back to the retailer from where it was purchased.

It's also worth giving Playstation a call to see if they can help.

i bought if off ebay about a year ago, its out of warranty. ive updated it before ok, just this time round its ballsed up. if/when i get a new one, i will be terrfified to update the ****!

im having a similar problem with mine (80gig) tried wifi,ethernet and usb stick to update the firmware

Hold down the power button till the PS3 turns on then off, Hold the power button for a further 5 seconds. You should now be in recovery mode, from here select rebuild database and all should be good in tha hood ;)
