i've got an orange livebox, so i've pressed the 'wifi' button for when you need to connect a new device but still nothing.
i've tried going on 192.168.1.1 to try see if i can make it forget some old signals or something, but nothing loads on that - just comes up with an error :S

help!!! i need to get back online and after 2months out!!!

make sure you use capital letters etc

done that. even resorted to getting a keyboard out and plugging it in to make sure i was typing it in right...

do wireless routers have limits as to how many things can be connected? although there would only be 2 things at once, there are probably about 10things with a connection set up...

i'm connected to it, as is every other wireless device in my house. i've tried to get on 192.168.1.1 downstairs where its got a wired connection but nothing.
i get a page of home and settings across the top, but nothing loads below.... surely it should be asking for a password of admin?!?

ps3 finds it no problem, just the router doesnt seem to accept the code... my last ps3 worked no problem...

You could try disabling the security on the Livebox, Just to see if it works ,

here bud found this ...

Hi all,

Just a little tip for any users trying to wirelessly connect their PS3 through an Orange Livebox router.

Remember that after you type in the WEP key on the PS3 you have to press the "1" button on the side of the Livebox to put it into PAIRING mode in order for the PS3 to handshake with the router.

I wasted around 20 mins faffing about until I discovered this.

After you press the button the wireless router connection LED will flash on the Livebox and it stays in pairing mode for 10 mins or so. As long as you complete connection during this time you should have no problems.

It does not affect any other connections you have already set up (PC, PSP etc).

Hope that helps someone save a little time .....

Have you tried putting in a static IP address for the new PS3. If your network starts at say 192.168.1.2 and youve got 4 other machines in the house using wireless set the new PS3 to .1.6 example.

Basically see if auto assign IP addy is in any way confusing it. Ive had a few machines before that got muddled when getting assigned an IP... once set to manual they worked fine.

Worth a shot.

also found this ...everytime you want to connect a wireless device you need press the number 1 button ! i think you get about 10 minutes pairing time then. you can have 6 different wireless devices on the livebox i think.
maybe there is limit to number of devices you can have registed on a livebox anyone know ???

and this It's ideal for families as the free Livebox wireless router allows for up to six devices to be connected at once.

i've pressed the button before doing it.

i dont see why there would be a limit to how many are registered. i would be able to check and delete things such as my old PS3 off it, but i cant get onto 192.168.1.1 to find out :x
