Hi, just got a ps3 slim replacement after my 60gb broke under its extended warrenty... However do I really need the extended warrenty on my slim? What about that 6year EU law, has anyone got their ps3 fixed through this 6year law? Hopfully I'll save £35 is I dont need the warrenty!
Thanks in advanced

you dont have a 6 year warranty.
so many people misunderstand the sale of goods act.
after 6 months of ownership, you personally will need to prove that the goods you bought were not fit for purpose and should've lasted longer.
you have up to 6 years from time of purchase to make a claim but the success rests of you proving that the goods have a fault that has lead them not to last aslong as they should.
how long something is expected to last differs between products.

an extended warranty is in addition to the rights you have under the sale of goods act, may include a quicker turnaround time in repair or replace and may even cover accidental damage too.
its a breakdown service.

if you want to claim under the sale fo goods act, be prepared to get and pay for engineer statements, recorded delivery to the retailer or manufacturer and possibly even legal help if they dispute your evidence.

Sale of goods act is for retailer not manufacturer (that means game anyway). Also after 2 years it will be difficult without an extended warranty. But it is up to you.
