PS3 Trade in?

My PS3 60gb has just died again after being sent off for repair. I can get it repaired for free once more as the repair had 3 months warranty. However I'd rather get a new one once its repaired but I don't really want to sell the old one on here or ebay in case it goes wrong again.
Is there any place that takes old PS3s in exchange for new ones?
Thanx in advance.

Where did you get it repaired? If anywhere other than Sony, it won't have a warranty sticker, so will be difficult to trade in.

If it was fixed by Sony, get them to give you a 12 month warranty(they will do so with persuasion). You can then sell it with warranty.

It was fixed by consolewerks. They did put a warranty sticker on but not the original sony one.
Cex offer £130 for a boxed 60gb model. So if I get it fixed, buy a new one, swap the drive out, then take the old one to CEX...
I suppose it depends if the CEX employee knows the difference between the warranty stickers?

Also does anyone know which is the best model to buy new (disregarding HD size)?

I would guess they'd know the difference.

You can't simply swap the drive out(well you can, but you'll lose all your data on it) you need to do a data transfer from one console to the other.
A new one would have at least 120GB, so not sure why you'd swap it.

There is a new slim out that should run cooler, it has a model number of "2103" instead of "2003". You can only know if you are getting one of these if purchasing instore though.
