PSN Down yet again, twice in just over one week..

Laughable really, I only had an argument on here with some fanboy that said that it only has been down half a day in 3 years.

Twice already this week, tuesday and today PS Home (an essential part of PSN of which you pay for...yes....pay for, with personal spaces and clothing) has been down, and now like on June 9th the whole ruddy network has gone to pot....

http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Network/i-just-got-disconnected/td-p/10968658

So lets here it you PS3 fanboys claiming that because PSN is free its better, I have both 360 and PS3 consoles and have to say I have not had anywhere near the problems I have had on the 360 compared to owning a PS3 over 2 months with network issues....

Done that already, washing happily drying on the line...

down for me too :(

What I find ridiculous is their new Plus service, it is not going to guarantee a better network, just offer you a "rental" of games for the duration you are a subscriber.

Sorry but how is home an essential part of psn unless you like pretending to be a woman and getting harrased by loads of sad Pre teens also you dont have to buy anything in home it's your choice if you do or not so that's rubbish too so stop whining the down time is next to none at least my ps3 hasn't broken 5 times like my mates xbox

If you dont want psn plus don't buy it simple and if you don't like the ps3 stop creating endless topics and threads and just sell the bloody thing

Typical fan boy response, I have not created a topic of a thread previously on the PS3, PSN consists of Home it is an integral part of the PSN.

No I don't want PSN Plus, just making an observation that unless Sony improve PSN as in a paid service for a better backbone network then what good is it going to be.

Wow....very mature of you, I listed a link to a forum where many other people were having the same error, nothing to do with my internet connection or Xbox you seem to slate for no reason  Typical PS3 fanboy slagging off the 360.

I am aware of both consoles faults, just puzzled why Sony fanboys always criticise the paid Xbox Live service when in my (albeit limited) experience of owning a PS3 for the past two months there seems to be a fair share of outages, clearly shows to me that the infrastructure of Xbox Live is far more robust than PSN and as a new PS3 owner I have my concerns that the PSN Plus service is not going to do anything to improve it, just offer game "loans" of old PS1 titles which if you already owned you could have played for free if they had not have removed the emulation.

PlayStation Home is an optional part of the XrossMediaBar interface of the PS3 console that uses the PlayStation Network.

PlayStation Home is available via a PS3 console at zero cost to anybody with a PlayStation Network account.

You can use the PlayStation Network for any other activity without ever having to use PlayStation Home at all.

Yes, you may buy virtual items for use within the PlayStation Home environment but this, again, is an optional element of the social networking experience.

I have never clicked on home, and I have had a PS3 or two for over a year. I also do not know anyone that has ever been on it.

They can claim it's better because by their nature, fanboys aren't objective. A bit like your ramblings.

Yes but as I said, if you pay for optional clothing or personal spaces then it's not free and annoying that its down at least once a week for maintenance, you are paying for stuff you have not got access to, it is an integral part of PSN as you have to sign into PSN in order to utilise it.

With PSN being down and weekly maintenance causing downtime on PS Home I personally find the whole (albeit free) network experience on the PS3 lousy compared to Xbox Live.

I've never paid anything for Home, and never will, but I do use it.
All in all, this is a bit of a flamebait fanboy article.
I wasn't on at the time so it didn't affect me. but I can understand why people may be annoyed, but the same has happened on Live. You may not have experienced it or been offline at the time.
Maintenance will be quite prevalent for a while because of the implementation of PSN+
The individual game and Home servers being down once or twice during the night is for maintenance, you obviously won't find that on Live because the biggest majority of games are P2P not dedicated servers.

I play on home everyday and the updates always add something new to what is still a beta platform. The update yesterday for example added new areas to use and changed the "home square" drastically . How do you expect things to be updated without any downtime? Unless you would like to download / install a new update every week?

As for people buying clothing and personal spaces, yes they are paying for the items but they also recieve free items with each update.

i agree it seems that the op thinks anyone that has a different opinion to his own is a fan boy i hate the term as it doesnt actually mean anything i like to eat icecream yet i dont class my elf as a fanboy of icecream when someone says they dont like it every network has to go down for maintenance and its hardly suprising that on the week of the e3 conference its quite a while as they may be showing new things on psn like psn plus for example that needs intergrating into the xmb etc plus the arrival of 3d i mean jeez god help you go outside do something else your screen isnt the world theres lots of things to do instead id rather have a satble network updated often with a machine that doesnt break every week as my mates x box has

anyway this is going no where the psn is back up and has been apart from the 12 hour slot i have never had a problem with getting on it my view so flame away if it differs from yours

have fun play nice and lets just get along :p
