PSP 3000 - Recall Iminent?

If you didnt know the new PSP has some horrible interlacing issues, Sony have responded by calling it a 'feature' that cant be fixed by firmware, however, according to users on the official Sony site, a lot of online stores (including amazon) are withdrawing them from sale or stoppping taking preorders, my theory is Sony have told them to do it.

Is it recall #213224353 for Sony?

Sony have said there is no plan for a fix:

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/21/scei-psp-brites-scanlines-caused-by-hardware-no-plans-to-fix/

Sony says:

"On some occasions, scan lines may appear on scenes where brightness changes drastically, due to the hardware features of the new LCD device on PSP-3000. Installed with this new LCD device, PSP-3000 offers more natural and vibrant colors on its screen, but the scan lines have come out to be more visible as a result of improving response time to alleviate the afterimages on PSP-3000. Since this is due to hardware specification, there are no plans for a system software update concerning this issue."

As I say, they say there is no plans for a software update, doesnt mean they wont recall/fix the hardware. If as many shops as I hear are stopping stocking them then what are they going to do ?

Yes my BT homehub used to turn the thing PS3 on and off at random when the autostart thing was on, something to do with ARP signals, the PSP didnt work but because the PS3 wants you to press the PS button after the homehub has started it, it would be useless away from home. Anyway turned autostart of and on now it doesnt work at all , only by going to remote play on the PS3
