if you buy a psp not already cutomed, its fairly easy to do. Or there are folks on the forum (inc me) who will do it for you for price of postage.

HotUKDeals Member 'jaguark' created a thread "Tutorial To make Perfect Pandora for PSP fat and slim" in the "Miscellaneous Musings and Random Nonsense" section on 9 November last year.

Anybody know where it has gone?

BFN,

fp.

PS. Changes to the site rules, as spotted by logyon, with respect to Pandora Batteries, FYI:

If you buy the very latest slim and lite psp '3000' (comes with fifa 09, Ratchet and Clank or Lego Batman) you cant put custom firmware on them

Those all state that the 3000 can be put into service mode, but have you heard of anyone actually putting CFW on one? I haven't.

Double sigh........... I think youll find the datel blue battery puts the machine in service mode but it cannot be hacked, if looking at a blank screen is your scene then rock and roll !

I raise your double sign with a query:

Have you got a Blue Datel Tool battery?

ive not seen any evidence to support your claim that back ups can be played in any of thse threads you have provided.

all it says is that the blue toll thingy can get the psp into service mode.... there are other safeguards in place

I shall retaliate with a triple sigh and pose the question;

How many psp 3000 have you seen with custom firmware? can you provide a video of one?

It said it was possible right there in the text at the first of the three links:
---
"...Datel has revealed a special battery peripheral called the Lite Blue Tool that boots the handheld console into service mode, where downgrades to earlier, cracked firmwares are possible."

No. I haven't seen a PSP-3000 at all. Sorry.

Going to venus is theoretically possible.

True. But I didn't see the term "theoretically" used with regards downgrading the firmware :)
#21
Type "PSP-3000 custom firmware video" into the Google search field.

The first result is a link to a YouTube.com video.

I cannot verify the content because I am presently behind a firewall that strips out anything useful from HTTP sources.

(I'm surprised HotUKDeals.com is allowed through!)

can you show some evidence of somebody downgrading the firmware because so far all i can see in thos ethreads is that the psp can be knocked into service mode

just because you can get service mode does not automatically mean you can downgrade the firmware and play back ups of games you already own.

can you provide any further proof/evidence of this or are you just specualting and/or guessing?

ive read the comments and watched the youtube video which shows nothing of the psp running whatsoever?

the guy is holding a psp3000 in his hand with the screen not working i might add ,with a computer screen running in the background which in my opinion could be another psp2000 running on it

no proof provided im afraid

conclusion is the psp3000 can NOT use custom firmware.....yet

Like I said, I haven't seen the video.

However, semantics aside... the Tool available from CodeJunkies.com will allow suitably gifted individuals to write the necessary code to install custom firmware.

If further investigation & work is required to do this then I'm sure there are others working on it as we all type here.

Equally I'm sure you can agree that you know somebody will do it. It is just a matter of time.

The fact that it is now more difficult to do so is incentive enough for many of the "community" members to try even harder this time around.

(I'm off to my Home now to play within "PlayStation(r)Home" before the masses descend on it tomorrow)

G'night all...

evantually ..... maybe.....

or maybe not, sure sony have done a lot to combat piracy on this machine just like the ps3 which still after over 2 years has still not been cracked!!

also on another thread you mentioned an update for the ps3 to be able to play ps2 games this again ahas been promised from the release of the ps3 as documented on the japanese sony site has never materialised.

where do you get your information from? i would have a word as they seem to be misinforming you quite a lot recently

Updates at [email protected]'s Battery and 88v3 IPL.
We already explained here when the new [email protected] battery came into play, that "To have a LED indicator ON, doesn't means that you can install cfw or hack anything."

Well, from the same maxconsole thread from where the battery was announced as the mayor salvation for 3k and 88v3 users to be able to "downgrade your PSP and pretty much do what you want with it!", it's confirmed that this over exalted battery will leave 3k at least like the 88v3, just with a flashing light, a black screen and nothing but that LED indicator, as we announced.

Therefore, that (strange blue colored) battery won't work for you, instead "someone" makes a bypass for the preIPL thing that Dark_AleX explained here. (Considering that the preIPL on the 3k has the same security) Looks like [email protected] was hoping that Dark-AleX hacked it, so only their battery could be available for the hacking proccess. Bad luck, guys.

Now onto the 88v3 IPL. You might remember this post from where part of the signing (there were 2 functions missing) was hacked from Brokencodes; so being as partial as it is, it would be interesting now to say, after reading about it on all the PSP-related webpages, that is NOT conclusive or definitely, so please, be aware that a "hack" for this couple of mobos might need further and longer study.

We'll keep you updated.

I feel honoured that you are taking more interest in my comments than I do.

Virtually stalking... maybe?

I'm going to yield to your far superior knowledge.

Just ignore anything I say or type again if it makes you feel better. We can then perhaps all get along again or, at least, have a discussion rather than an argument.

'Tis the season to be jolly, after all.

BFN,

fp.

PS. In September this year I saw a YouTube video of the PS3 running an ISO of "MADDEN 09 NFL" (HomeBrew via Bluray Disc Java). Again, i cannot point you to it, or say whether it was genuine, so feel free to quash this as well. Thanks.
