The age old question eh? Got a DS lite yesterday (my third now; kids have one each) and I already have a PSP. Don't want too many gadgets (aleady got ninja PC, Wii and PS3) so decided to get rid of one handheld.

So, PSP: nice graphics and custom firmware (emulators etc.) but a few years old (and a Mk II around the corner) or brand new DS Lite; pokey graphics but some cool touch screen games. Because I gave the kids my games when I got the PSP there are lots of DS games in the house inc. Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Guitar Hero, Zelda, professor Layton, Brain Training etc.

So, what would you do?

We have two DS's and two PSP's currently.

Run both! lol

Tempting but I need to make some time for some long term work/projects and, although I do like to game, I am trying to remove temptations! ;-)

Its an OCD thing.

If you had to choose, which one would you pick?

If you're not a hardcore gamer, the DS.

It's cheaper, games take up less space and more available too.

And not a white PSP.

Just realised it was yours I enquired about earlier, your avatar wasn't showing up.

Mmmm...hardcore gamer? never thought about it before. Having most of the consoles and a few PC's I do loike my games and I am secretly a graphics *****. I would sell the Wii tomorrow if the missus would let me (she loves Wii Fit). Can't stand to watch the games on a 42" HD screen but Loooovve my PS3.
Gotta admit to loving the graphics on the PSP and having custom firmware helps to build up a large library of....ahem....games ;-)

Yup, just added a new avatar....and I dropped the price of the PSP........

Any particular reason?
Surely not graphics/sound etc.

Not enough though. lol

The graphics do let the DS down but there are so many addictive titles.

If you run CFW on the PSP, do the same on the DS. We have two CycloDS's with 8gb MicroSD cards.

What PSP games do you like?

God of War, Patapon 2, Loco Roco, Ridge Racer, Wipeout, Everybodys Golf.

Got to admit to being interested in Motorstorm, LBP and Assassins Creed for the PSP...but also the new PSP coming out.

As for my PSP was that your last offer (presuming I sell the games, movies and dock elsewhere)?

Me confused.
What is the question?

Yeah, £40. I already have two in the house, this one was to leave at work!

I'm sure you'll get your asking though, if not just ebay it.

Don't ebay have a policyy about selling the custom firmware?
I only see ones on there now stating original official 1.5 firmware (which can still be customised)

Just downgrade it. I'm sure it'll make a good price.

Wouldn't buyers be looking for a 1.50 firmware so they can update it to the latest M33 version?

Anyways, if there is no interest on here I will try it on the AV site; they seem to go pretty quick there.

Good thinking.

Whoops...expired the wrong thread.
Question remains: PSP or DS lite...although I am coming around to the idea of keeping the DS.

There are some decent games for the PSP - but most of them are slimmed down versions of games you are better off playing on the PS3 - Motorstorm, Ridge Racer, Wipeout, God of War (with 3 due out), Everybody's Golf. All decent games, but all better on the PS3.

DS has a huge lot of original titles, stuff more suited to picking up and playing for a bit, then putting down. Love Professor Layton, Rhythm Paradise, Picross, GTA IV, Bangai-O, Elite Beat Agents, Zelda, Pokemon () - all pretty original, and best played in small doses on the handheld.

I have a PSP, PS3, DS, Wii, PS2, DC etc etc - the PSP gets the least use of the lot............(although I do have a bit of a love affair with Loco Roco:whistling:)

I have decided to keep the DS Lite and sell the PSP although I cannot guarantee I won't be tempted by the PSP2 later this year ;-)
