Son will be 9 at the end of the month,
any advice on which one of these do you think I should buy him.
2 of his friends have a DS lite, but for some reason he says he would like a PSP. Am I right in thinking that these consoles can be linked ?

TIA

I agree, go for DS, my brothers and their children have both, but only really use the DS. As do I.

Hmmm why not get both -- different consoles -- want a psp then get a ps2 -- want a ds then get a ds

Ds lite id recommend but when the psp lite comes out in sep get that

Lol, Don't be like that!

I'm meaning the DS is more suited to kids and as the other kids have got Ds's (Sp?) they'll be able to play them against each other, Plus there are more games aimed towards kids.

Personally - I adore my DS and we have both a DS lite and a PSP.

I'd sell the PSP tomorrow if my OH didn't object :giggle:

I'd say the DS Lite....it's more different. My PSP hasn't seen the light of day for months, come to think of it i don't even know where it is........or care. :)

As every snooker player knows, potting for the pink is worth more points then potting the brown.

I was always taught : "Always get in the pink, Never the brown" :giggle:

There comes a time when we all need to get the brown though...

I have loads of games, but if we stick to the same game, you better get some practice in on the card games.

Depends. If someone is offering £1000 + Sony 32" HDTV + PS3...

And, adding onto HU5TLER's latest question, can you teach me too?

Your experiences as an Essex girl will greatly enhance my finger techniques, I'd be a DS master in no time.

So anyway, out of 10, what rating would you give to the DS game 'Pony Friends'?

Hi!
I've got both the DS Lite and the PSP. For a 9-year-old I'd by far recommend the DS, it's got loads of inventive games that can keep you occupied, and also it plays all Game Boy Advance Games which is great- I've only got one DS game (Animal Crossing) and I think I play on my DS more than my PSP!

The PSP is good for multimedia; but I'm assuming your 9 year old won't be music crazy, or if he is he already has an iPod/MP3 player... I'd sell my PSP right now if only I had enough money to buy an iPod, cos all I use it for is to play music.

Also, the DS's games are generally cheaper (about £15 or so instead of £20+), and also the console is cheaper in the first place (I managed to get mine for £75 brand new when they first came out- imported from Canada) so I vote DS Lite all the way!

Whichever you choose, hope he likes it ;)

just to make things more confusing. Would a Nintendo Wii be worth considering instead. £15 off at John Lewis for the sports bundle console + 8% quidco. He already has a PS2
