the latest firmware is 3.90 m33
do a google search lots of places to download
gj net is where i get mine from but seem to be down at the minute

Just put 3.8 m33 on mine

3.8 m33 allows you to update to the 3.9m33 firmware via network update on psp. Check on it first so you don't go official. After, lots of stuff await - say emulators, backups, homebrew (fav is psptube)

Its alright I have made a Pandora Battery + Magic Card so can restore anything

Stay with m33 3.80 for now as it's the best one to have at the moment, not everything works with 3.90. I'll pm you a a good site for some good psp stuff.

Yeah am planning on it.

Spent a few hours messing around last night and have some of what I want.

Could do with some good apps mind!

Get downloading some Games then - after all - thats why most people install CFW on their PSP

Just wondering what other cool stuff it can do

Get some emulators on there. The Sega and SNES ones work fine but never had a successful N64 ROM run.

totally off topic but would you sell your Pandora battery?
#11
Hey Geo is it just to flash your own PSP?

I work in London so might be able to meet to flash it for you(maybe for a small donation towards my costs)

Not sure it would be worth selling (with postage) although cost me £15 for the battery and a £5 for the Memory stick which i have since made "Magic".

Only got them yesterday as well

I've got a slim psp on 3.90 firmware, can i downgrade this to play homebrew and if so how
#14
Hey Souljacker as far as I know any PSP can play Homebrew.
My understanding is that anything over 3.50 firmware will need the Pandora Battery & Magic Memory Card and cant go through the use a game to downgrade process.

The Magic Memory card is just a normal pro duo memory card (must be Magic Gate Supported!) with a installer file placed on it. You can download this through the web can send you details if intrested.

The Battery is what will "boot" your PSP into Server Mode and is called a Pandora Battery.
You can turn your existing battery into a Pandora Battery or you can buy one from Amazon Here

Personally I choose to buy a ready made battery and then got a small memory card for £5 (total cost £20) its all quite easy.
The advantage of this is there is less hassle and if it ever goes wrong (gets bricked) you always have the kit to repair it and can "flash" friends PSP's as well.

Note - I haven't checked the details for your firmware (3.90) if your intrested can direct you to some places where it can be answered for sure, but as far as Im aware Pandora works on PSP

Cheers for that crow, i done a quick search and found some tutorials on the pandoras battery but it said you need a second psp to do it, can it be done with 1? If you could send me some links i'd appreciate it, cheers.

I've not needed higher than 3.71 M33-4 (yet!). The 1.5 kernal addon v2 is worth getting.

Saw that, everything seems to run on mine.

What will this help/add?
#20
If you run emus and have the PSP running in the 3.xx kernal (in recovery mode), the addon will help with any compatibility problems. I get an error code when I run snes9x, but not with the addon as it now defaults to the 1.5 kernal when needed.

BTW, after the 1.5 plugin is installed Snes9xTYL 0.4.2me goes in the 'GAME150' folder. It works. I heard that the vanilla 0.4.2 doesn't work on 3.71.
