I think they're those old school swap things where you insert a spring under the lid (onto the lid switch) and you put a cartridge into the socket on the back.

Firstly you have to have that socket on the back of your ps1.. Better check that you do.

any chipped ps1 will play this game for you- its normally only about a tenner on ebay for a chipped ps1 nowadays, or you cd pick up an nstc ps1 for about the same

as for the psxchange CD, might have to travel back in time to the late 90s!

edit- just checked, psxchange was def the cd loader, no spring or cart etc needed, but as I say a chipped or NSTC ps1 are your best bet here

hmm ill have a look on eBay then, i thought i could literally just buy a cd somewhere to boot up this game (it's 100% genuine by the way) on my PS1.

I know it's retro but still :P

IF it works lol. That's why i've got a PSX rather than PS1. I prefer the hardware solution as it's 100%.

thanks Shengis ill try that later today.

repped you all.

if anyone manages to find a psxchange or gameshark, swap-magic or pro breaker, let me know!

cheers

lol, if only someone had set up a £4.95 to mod your playstation site back in the 90s!
remember paying £70 to get my first one modded... crazy to think PS1 games were £40 ten years ago, then I suppose Mega Drive games were £40 15 years ago...

lol yeah my PS1 console is in almost mint condition. I had it since day 1 and its been the most reliable console i've ever had. I was too worried about getting it chipped because i didn't know back then if it'd survive for a long while after being chipped.

lol, remember the days of trying to squeeze a few more months out of your playstation by turning it upside down? ahhh....

i still remember NES & SNES days, even N64 days blowing ino cartridges! (im only 18 but i still remember it!)

Nahhhh it was fine. I've got mine chipped still and it works a charm. It was at a dodgy market in Glasgow aswell.. Ahh time flies. PS1 games used to stay at like £40 for a year, now PS3 games jump down to £10 within a month :whistling:

thats a good point nacider, I remember chopping in six month old MD games for thirty quid...I rarely buy games on release now cos you know in two weeks itll be on here for half the price.

Game and Watch were the best- two button batteries that'd last years even with constant play. **** games though (apart from Donkey Kong)

I had Pinball which I played for ages and the classic Mario bros bottle factory game. They re-released the Mario game on GBA but it's just not the same :-(

Fire's a mental game though

Even if you look at preorders they drop in price before the game is even released. At Christmas they had COD4 for £25 if you remember, they wouldn't have ever done anything like that for a PS1 game. PS2 were a bit different though, the prices were a little better (Wasn't this because xbox/dreamcast/gamecube came on the scene?)

I have one of those Gameshark thingy majiggies lying about if you need it mate?
Will only work on an original Playstation though, there is no serial port on the PSone, let me know,

Mike..
