putting dado rail/picture rail up.

im going to be putting a picture rail up in the spare room and was thinking of using no nails to put it up, would this work ok, would it hold to the wall or am i best off using nails aswel.

when i had dado fitted years ago they put small tacks to hold in place under the dado and no-nailed.
I had a joiner do the picture rails and he used screws(not nails)

Yes, i wouldn't recommend nails. Pre drill hole on the wall, add screws with rawl plugs and if you like - no more nails as well.

i think it might be to complicated for me (a women) to do lol im hoping my partners dad is going to do it but if not was going to try it myself.

you can get instant grap no more nails nowaday so so need for the nails

No nails is only good is the walls are straight. Hold a piece of the rail against the wall - if it lies relatively flat then no nails will be ok (although you will need something - tacks, masking tape etc - to hold it until it dries)., If not then you may need to use screws.

And if you do screw it there is really no need for 'no nails'.

This +1, i usually knock a few masonary nails half way in to hold in place and take them out the next day
