Yes you will have to notify the DVLA as the logbook will need updating. This may also cause a problem with insurance as it will be seen as a modification if its not the same size/spec as the original and may cost more to insure.

Im presuming its a new(ish) Corsa to make it worth your while bothering with this project?

if the cc is higher you need new brakes etc otherwise her insurance will be invalid.

Oh the insurance thing is just something to consider, give them a bell first :)

With regards to brakes as in t0mm's post it depends on what brakes etc your daughters car had compared to the chassis your fitting it in. If your trying to fit a 2litre engine in a 1.1 chassis for example there would be so much need changing, brakes, gearbox exhaust that it would be a waste. However if your fitting like for like then im sure there isn't an insurance angle at all. Once you have a few more details you can give the insurance a bell, give them all the info they want and then you will have your answer :)

Hopefully your daughter is ok, but hope she got a smacked bottom for having an accident after 4 weeks ;)
