Anyone heard this before? I bought something quite expensive off someone on fleabay. I have not left feedback yet as it is a voucher we have not used yet so don't know if there will be any problems with it. They have wriotten to say that "PAYPAL" (not ebay) have said they will not release funds without me having left positive feedback. I was not intending to do so until had used the voucher and knew everything was ok. Has anyone heard of this before or does it sound fishy. Thanks

Nah, Ebay and Paypal now hold the money for users with feedback of less than 100 until positive feedback is left, or 21 days have passed without a dispute being raised.

I wouldn't. I'd use the voucher first to make sure everything is ok. Paypal hold the funds for your safety, to make sure you can get your money back in case of a problem.

What if you had bought an 'as new' ds from someone and they sent you a faulty one? would you think it was so stupid then? I know I wouldn't lol. someone said up there ^^^^ that paypal are having problems with funds being held at the moment. I wouldnt worry, it will soon sort itself.

If you leave positive feedback, then the seller might not even send it to you and paypal will not help you. Its the new rules. Seller must send first.

but couldnt it happen you send the "as new" ds to someone, they say its faulty send you back a broken ds (not the one you sent out) pay pal give them the money back and they have your ds, and you end up with no money and a broken one

This is exactly why you should take a photo of expensive items before posting out (especially the serial numbers). I mark my things with an ultraviolet pen.

Thank you for contacting PayPal, my name is Al and I am happy to assist you
today.

I understand your concern is about the payment you have received but was
put on hold. I will be more than willing to assist you further. Since the
yuletide season is fast approaching, the PayPal system has been flooded by
a large volume of transactions recently. As a result, eBay and PayPal
experienced some technical issues that affected some of our batch tools
being used to release the hold for the transactions immediately.

Rest assured that we take these issues very seriously and we sincerely
apologize for any inconvenience this issue has brought to you. We are aware
that this is completely unacceptable for valued customer like you since you
have been a PayPal member since Jan. 10, 2008. We hope you could attest to
the fact that this is the first time this kind of issue arised.

But please be advised that we have a technical team working 24/7 and is
dedicated to resolve this and ensure that this won't happen again.

We already have a record for the number of times you have contacted us
about this issue so rest assured that your transaction details will
definitely be prioritized and forwarded to the relevant department for
release ASAP."

We are committed to making your PayPal experiences pleasant and fulfilling.

Sincerely,
Al
