Are you talking day or night? whats the daylight condition, can you see infront of you without the light?

http://www.ukmotorists.com/highway%20code.asp?s=Lighting%20Requirements#900 (highway code)

Although we all know that the highway code could do with updating no ?

I always take flashing of lights to mean that it's safe to go (instead of highway code it means you are alerting others of your presence).

The highway code should be re written, there are far too many vehicles on the roads nowadays

Alot of people think this but its always been an alternative to the horn i think, to alert someone of your presense.

If you are on your driving test and an oncoming car 'flashes you through' to let you through a gap you will get a black mark against you in your test if you then go, (without the instructor telling you to do so).

It's one of those things that everyone does, but because it is in conflict with the 'official rules of the road' you get a black mark if you do it on the test - lol

why are you one of those people that drives around in the fog with no lights on because it is in daylight hours, even though vision is impaired.

just as bad as the idiots who drive around all day & night with their front foglights on. A nice easy pull & 3 points for the coppers.

you shouldnt really put rear ones on in fog either when in heavy traffic imho

As soon as I can clearly see the car behind I turn them off, think it's 25m and fog rarely gets to 25m visibility.
