i bought a ps3 on littlewoods direct / very and used the 30 off 60 new customer and bnpl july 2010.

which took everything down to 322.95
and in my account it now says first payment will be taken august 2010

what i was wanting to know now is

if i put money in to that account every month now say £30 a month until next year when it comes to august what will happen. or if i clear all the balance befre august 2010 and my account is at the original limit what will happen then

i have never used a bnpl on a catalaouge

Your account will go in to credit by the amount you pay each month, until August next year when the item will be applied to your account.

ok so then they will just take it off the credit

and does any one think that this is a good idea ?? that way i know i have put money towards my console.

key is to pay off the balance in full before the agreed date expires - it you don't the interest is charged from the day you took the product - and you will be hit with a heap load of interest at an extortionate rate.

so if i paid £32.29 a month in to it for 10 months it should be or pay as much as i can in to the account
#5
yes - right down to the last penny!

if its a buy now pay later like sept or august 2010, as long as its intrest free which most are on littlewoods then you dont need to worry about any intrest, the payments in august 2010 will be intrest free, unless of course you didnt put the item on 150 weeks or something like that in which case you will be charged intrest, 20 or 50 weeks i think are intrest free

Interest free exists as long as you pay up in the prescribed period. Go one day out and interest is calculated from day one - it's a nasty clause in the smallprint of most bnpl agreements. Catches people out all the time!

The long and short is - pay up before the agreed date!

weve never been charged intrest as long as the period u take out is 20 or 50 weeks, had a few on buy it now pay laters, when it comes round all they do is add the original price to your balance, the only time they add intrest is if u go for 100 or 150 weeks cant remember which

littlewoods direct / very works i think with non bnpl 3 months intrest opt out so dnt have option with the weeks

have worked as a debt adviser - best rule of thumb is if you cant afford it - dont get it! BNPL agreements are notorious - and the debt is often (not always) charged back to day one - its in the small print of each agreement

its only me
key is to pay off the balance in full before the agreed date expires - it you don't the interest is charged from the day you took the product - and you will be hit with a heap load of interest at an extortionate rate.

Not with Littlewoods Direct you dont, when the BNPL kicks in you then have a further 3 months intrest free to pay it off, after that then intrest is charged monthly, not from when you bought the items.

I know alot of places do work like you say but not Littlewoods Direct :)
