Question about domains?

Has anyone registered an expiring domain before? It's under someone else currently. What's the process? How long does it take?

Find out where it is hosted, go through them and place a "backorder", this will give you the best chance of getting it.

e.g. Godaddy - Godaddy backorder

is it a .co.uk? it takes 60 days from the expiration date to become available. Use a registrar to book it for you as they will work on a no win, no fee service.
I have bought a couple of expired domains and you can lose out, depends on it's history and value e.g. facebook.com would be well sough after but billsmagicemporiumofdogs.com wouldn't

hey it a .com not common. Does that make a diff from .co.uk?

What makes you think they wont renew?

As said above, after its expired it would be up for grabs after 60 days and it is possible to pre register with a host who will try to get it for you once the 60 days are up - at a premium. It doesnt guarrantee anything - & even though the domain has expired, the original owners still has first dibs until those 60 days are up.
