Quick question, I live at a residential block of flats and we have an allocated parking space each in the rear car park. All clearly numbered. Since Christmas eve morning, someone has parked in my space. The car has not moved and I have tried every other flat to see who it belongs to. It's a nusiance and I am now having to park miles away which is a pain. My maintenance company are closed until January and I am out of ideas...... Any advice? Thanks.

If the cark park is still snowy/icy get a mate to try and tow it out and just dump it somewhere.
#2
Let the tyres down it wont help you but it will inconvenience them as it has you
Stuff the Christmas spirit I hate liberty takers :x
#3
Park behind them. When they want to move they can come find you.
#4
scrap it
#5
Fire it

ring the old bill saying theres ticking in the boot! no no just kidding

Contact your local police with the vehicle registration number and ask them if they could contact the owner as it's parked in a private residential space. Who knows it could be stolen.....
#8
i agree with parking behind orrrr..... buy a wheel clamp and watch their faces when they come back orrrr phone the AA and say youve lost your keys oh the list is endless hehe
#9
Why not call thr Police and advise them you are concerned that there may be an abandoned car. It's in your space and you dont know who it belongs to, youve tried to establish who's it is by asking the neighbours so you are worried it could be stolen (doesnt need to be hot wired, could have had keys stolen and they are parking it at yours until trail goes cold) they can check on their database who it belongs to and contact the owner advising them they are parked on private property

Lol I can't block it as it's too close to other neighbour spaces. I.e will block them in. Don't know anyone who has a tow either. Love to let the tyrese down but don't want anything to happen to my car or flat as it's obvious who has done it. Ahhhhh it's soo annoying and really getting to me. Aaaggghhhh!

Thanks all will try police on their non emergency number. Thanks.

Bet they wont be interested
just stick a sign on it saying the owner of this vehicle "Is a rude ignorant ******"
#15
Get somebody to tow it on the street just leave it in the road.
#16
I have spoken to the police and they will try seeig if there is a contact number for car owner and see if they can move it. If not they will put a sticker, ticket on it. They advised if it was open I could move it but it's locked but seems to have no alarm.

Good move - this happened to us and the police had it towed away within the hour. It had indeed been stolen and abandoned in one of our allocated spaces. Good luck.

Wow. Hope mine will be. Fingers crossed. I would not have mind if the person was considerate and left a contact number. Here hopeing it's stolen.

Buy a wheel clamp and fit it.

Stick a printed sign up near by stating unauthorised parked cars will be clamped and a £150 release charge is applicable.

Hopefully you can start a nice little earner here! :w00t:

How much is a clamp.lol if nothing happens from the police think I will go down this route. 150 pounds is a good start.

It's a 206 x597qju.

Essex police called back and have spoken with the owner. They are on route to move it. So I am in the bed room that overlooks the car park waiting for them to return. Ahhh can't wait to I see them.lol

"On route to move it!?

So they go out on the lash, park in your space causing inconvenience and walk away scot free?

Hmmm..... How much are strong 1" nails these days?

How rude of them, and it's been there since Christmas Eve? I'd be fuming!

Its probably family visiting someone else tho. Ive got the same setup here, and between 12 houses, we only have 2 visitor spaces, and even though Ive told my family etc, they still park in other peoples spaces. Its embarrasing and annoying when its done to you.

i'd be tempted to etch a pattern in their paintwork !

flick a pebble up their exhaust - the rattle will drive them mad for the rest of next year . : )

X597QJU does not have any car insurance according to http://www.askmid.com/ownvehicle/

Tell the popo, or setup a home alone style trap of unfortunate events.

Live next to a main towards Milton Keynes had a few abandoned on the road outside my house, one was crashed into the round about then driven further along with the wheel hanging off then dumped in the middle of the road. As I was on the phone to the police a police car drove past ignoring it??? The woman on the phone said he was probably on his way home and would have to turn back in a minute.

Same here, twelve houses but only one visitor parking bay. One parking bay per house but seeing as many of the neighbours have two cars, it is like a free for all. Generally all the neighbours know not to park in someone else's spot but they don't seem to pass the message on to friends / family who just park in which ever spot is closest to the house they are visiting.

There has been many bust ups over parking and now if anyone parks in our spot we go out and ask them to move, or if we aren't in when it happens, we just park behind them and they can come round and ask us to move the car!

I assume it's not on a public highway, so that makes no odds.

i thought the same, but at some point they are going to have to drive it away from there onto public roads.

i had a similar problem last week when someone blocked my bike in my drive i just moved my bike in front of their car as soon as they knocked on the door asing me to move it i gave them a piece of my mind and even when i moved my bike i moved it just enough so they would have to reverse, stop turn forward reverse lol - i know you said you can't block them in if the police do nothing i would let down the tyres without hesitation
