Don't know exactly what you are looking for, a little more explanation is needed - are you swapping your house for a swimming pool?

sure they might chuck in an intex 12 foot swimming pool with the price if u ask nicely
#3
hahahaa

i mean say for example your buying a new house

for that sort of money would u expect to have a fairly large sized garden with a swimming pool (doesnt have to be a massive one)

Do you mean is it possible to get a house with a swimming pool for 250k?

If that's what you're asking I imagine you could as house prices vary by area. For example you wouldn't even get a flat for 250k in North london but more northern parts of the country house prices are generally cheaper so you might be able to get a house with a pool...

All depends on where you're buying...

Exactly, in the South of England you could just about manage a swimming pool for that price, maybe even become the Man from Atlantis but if you go up North you could buy a whole island and have a few swimming pools thrown in for free.

How about buying a swim pool??

Depends where you are, Thats the price for an average house in the south of England, With a small garden (or no garden) and maybe 3 bedrooms and no swimming pool!!

The gap between South and North has narrowed quite a bit. ;-)

£250k up here (TS17) would get you a nice 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms detached. By detached I mean the house next door will be as close to you as the builders could get away with ;-)

No swimming pools though as the gardens arent big enough and it's not the warmest of places even in the height of summer :-D

True you can get 4 beds for that money. Not 2 bathrooms though ;-)

Still wait a year or so for the looming housing crash (as predicted by all the 'experts' at the moment) and you could get a lot more for your money :w00t:

£250,000 as an average in the UK would get you a small 4 bed detached house, certainly no pool in the garden, not sure why anyone living in the UK would even want an outdoor pool though, even in Spain you can only use outdoor pools for about 4 months of the year unless you have them heated all the time.

Obviously in London you wouldn't even get a flat for that price but places like Swansea you might get be able to achieve a 4 bed with a pool for £250,000.

Apologies

I should have defined bathroom as ' a room you can fit a bath in'. Not WC's!

My house has 3 WC rooms it only has 1 bathroom. One en suite with shower and WC and 1 WC. I do not regard my home as having 3 bathrooms!

So would I if I could afford it

Round my way you'd struggle to get a house with a swimming pool for less than 400-500k. A decent 3 bed detached would set you back about 250k.
#19
even for half a million down south you wont be lucky to get a swimming pool lol

That's a good quote for the South :w00t:

Correct, although from friends experience selling a house with a pool is a minus point due to the upkeep. Cleaning, chemicals etc.

I can believe that, I have read that quite a lot of people that buy houses with outdoor pools get them filled in as they don't want them.

In my region of scotland for that price you will get a 3 bedroom possibly detached house. For a pool your looking at 500K plus ... mind you a pool is not really beneficial in scotland ... unless you want a skating pond :p
#26
hmmm some nice responses there

its just that ill be moving in a 250k house in next few months and was thinkin wow u dont get much nowadays for your money!
#27
You'd be lucky to get a decent sized flat with a bath for that much in Edinburgh, let alone a swimming pool.
#28
^^ LOL

maybe i should move to spain and get a villa
#29
Its getting pretty much impossible to find anywhere under £150,000!

Spain/France may well be cheaper although not as cheap as they were.
#30
My house was 115k when I bought it 2 years ago :)

Has 3 good size bedrooms, great size living room (it has to, it houses a 50" tele lol), and a huge garden !!

I've since added a huge conservatory (5m x 4.5m), and it's worth about £140k today

Since i bought my last house 4 years ago it has gone up in value by 70k, madness!!

I'd sell it but i'd only be ripped off buying a new one. lol
#33
Yea, thats the only thing.

It's only good if you sell up & move abroad..........

Hi to all my fellow Teessiders!!

I live in a very nice part of the Billingham area and many of my neighbours have pools but not me sadly, but there is no way you would get one for £250k or under.

I do know a way of being able to get a nice brand new pool on your doorstep, which is opened every day, is fully staffed and best of all is free to use with all maintenance taken care of!!! Why not buy a static caravan at Crimdon Dene like I just did for under £10k :-D
