Question / debate for football fans.....

As a football fan, would you prefer for your team to win the title OR see your arch rivals relegated?

As you can see i'm a Liverpool fan and I would consider Man U to be our biggest rivals (possibly not this season though).

I just can't decide which I'd prefer.

Discuss..........

No doubt at all, I'd want my team (Liverpool) to win the league - don't really care what our rivals do, as long as we finished above them.

In b4 any sleepy City fans who are more bothered about their rivals losing than their team winning :whistling:

Liverpool fan, I wouldn't want United to get relegated I love the fact there are biggest rival as it brings are game up. Man united have prooved to be the bigger side for a long time now. I want us to win obviously but can't see that happening, on the switch I don't like seeing united win titles, even though I'd rather have them win cups in europe then every other foreign side. (Want a british winner) But at the same time I don't want them beating us on cups, which at this rate is going to be broken very soon.

im a liverpool fan too, would rather win the title, dont see why i would want a great team like man u relegated, would make the league much less entertaining

I'd prefer to buy them and close them down.

Anyone want to buy a nearly new stadium in North London surrounded by "ladies of the night"? :p

Ive often thought about this. In the past it would deffo be the relegation option.... but now id prefer the trophy.

My team to win definitely - as a Jambo couldn't give a hoot about Hibs - and would love to rub it in their faces with more silver than them AGAIN!

True but useless fact : Buffalo Bill was still alive when Hibs last won the Scottish Cup :p

Definately my team win the league (though little hope of that)

I always find a better question is would you rather your team win the Premier League or England win the World Cup?

Do you really want to see John Terry labelled as a national hero if he lifts the World Cup this summer ??

With ya there guv.

I understand what everyone saying about if Man U got relegated the league wouldn't be as interesting but look at Serie A in Italy when Juve got relegated, I think the league was still interesting (well as interesting as Italian football can get).

Would just love to see the faces of 70,000+ Manc fans when it happened. That would be priceless. Although most are glory supporters so would end up wearing a different teams colours the following season.......jk before anyone takes it to heart

That must hurt!
I would not want my rival relegated, would miss the derbies, and the banter aftwards whether we win or lose.

Yeah - its good for the craic though I'm sure the other half of Edinburgh would disagree at the moment!

love having birmingham in the prem would not want them to go down when the fixtures come out its the first games i look for. but i would hate it if they won something before we did that would be a sad day.

but i would love liverpool to go down but them finishing about 7th this season will be funny enough the are a joke of a club.
owners who dont have a clue.
manager who make excuse after excuse.
fans who think it is there right to finish in the top four and see them as big as man utd, chelsea and arsenal when they are not even close. every season is this is our season we will win the title haha.
take torres and gerrard out and there is no world class players just an average side.

Its not that to be fair... nor the thought of United fans boasting they've won the world cup cos Rooney scored a hatrick! (I believe there is another club with that claim ATM)

My Club is just more important to me.

Win the league since our rivals are no threat at all to us, in fact I prefer them in the league so we can take our customary 4/6 points a season off them.

Same here :) I've got no problem supporting Gerrard and Johnson in the summer, but would find it pretty hypocritical cheering on the likes of John Terry and Rio Ferdinand, when they play for my club's rivals.

Don't get me wrong, I'll watch England, and hope that they do win the World Cup, but would much rather see Liverpool doing well.

Lol, I'd love to see Liverpool fail to get 4th spot, Oh wait, That looks unlikely anyway.

However I'd rather see United win the league again, Than either Liverpool or City relegated.

I'd rather see my team do well but if it was a choice between club & country it would be country all day long for me.

Title obv ! Aberdeen last won it in the Fergie era, unlikely to happen ever again thats for sure :(

I would want to win the league definantly. I think its good to have the rivals there, as its more exhilerating especially when we beat them (2-1 united on the weekend hahahaha).

Definantly wouldn't want any of the rivals to get relegated, the big games makes the league more exciting

No real football fan would go for the relegation option.
