sold a item and the buyer has zero feedback but was registered from 2006. he has just paid for the item but the payment says.
Payment Status: On Hold - Post now
What should I do now?
Post to this address:

Please post the item right away. We'll release the funds when one of the following occurs:
you receive positive feedback from the buyer
it's been 21 days since the payment date and you haven't received a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction being held

Always send recorded.
That way you have proof they have received the item plus your covered up to £30 if the item is lost/damaged.
I send recorded/special regardless of value as it is proof to paypal you have sent them the item.
#9
Whats the item? Is it a phone? If so i'd send special delivery at £5.05.
#10
if its worth more than £34 send it special delivery.

on second thoughts, send it special delivery anyway

if they pick it up at the sorting office, not always does it get confirmed as delivered if its recorded.

i would refund it and ask for a cheque or bank transfer-i know it's a new thing they are doing but doesnt seem fair..

you would get negged if you did that to me I'm afraid.
If you accept paypal I would expect to be able to pay with paypal!

OP what was the value?
You don't have a choice really though, send it or don't get paid and probably a neg.
#13
yeh whats the item if its something low value then ragz send it by 1st class with receipt.

Getting a neg or a neutral now kills your feedback score.

I gave a guy who sold me a tin toy a neutral rating after the seller had sold me it supposedly new and unopened, the toy came in used condition - even had a really apparent bad mark/repair on the toy's body!

I left a neutral and then as always received one - seller stating I should of chosen insured shipping lol. That is the only neg or neutral in my 273 odd ebay feedbacks - and my score is roughly 89 something!

EDIT: just now checked my ebay account and it's finally just gone back to 100% :)

Is it because it's over a year ago maybe?

yep i apreciate that but most newbie buyers wont:thumbsup:
I always have accepted paypal but have frequently asked for bank transfer on high value goods due to charges from paypal withut a problem from buyers. I have over 1000 positive fback so it works;-)

With over 1000 positive it would probably be easier, the Op hasn't (or they wouldn't be holding funds) so i would expect anyone to be wary about getting a paypal refund and being expected to send by BT without any protection.
You just have to look at this thread to see how misinformed some people can be, people saying send special delivery, its only £15, so telling the OP to send special will be a third of the value!
#20
just send it 1st class mate with a receipt :)
#21
I have had this before - it is not a problem at all. No need to worry.
What it is, is Paypal has received the money and to make sure you are a genuine seller they will wait till the buyer gives you feedback or a certain number of days. The buyer is not aware that this 'hold' is on the money, it has all gone through as nromal for them.
This is a new thing paypal have implemented to try and avoid scamming sellers on a random basis or items they consider 'high risk' - such as expensive items sold by low feedback sellers.

I have only had one item buyer said didnt arrive so i refunded. I got it back about 2 months later:roll: On the whole RM are great-and i have had very few horrible buyers! i think it depends on the goods you sell as kids stuff rarely attracts problems-phones attract all the nutters:x
