I bought a pair of boots on ebay, described as in very good condition and when they arrived alot of the colouring was worn away, so they look awful, and you cant see it in the pic, and its isnt in the desc, iv emailed the seller as I wasnt happy as I know I wouldn't wear them like this and shes offered for me to return for a refund(didnt say inc postage or not). Should I be asking her to refund postage and return postage as they really arent as described, and its not just me being picky (Iv wanted these boots for ages, I would have done with some scuffs, wear round the toe, or any thing I can cover up with polish, but theres no way of fixing or hiding this)
Just wondered, Iv never had a problem with ebay in this way before.

new part, because new thread got spammed for no reason, why I couldnt just have a new thread is beyond me
anyway, the seller is claiming that she didnt mislead in any way and is refusing to refund on postage, despite there being no show of the damage in the listing or pics, so now i will be out of pocket for £10 for nothing, is there anything I can do, i feel she is being very unfair

I sell footwear on Ebay. I accept returns for any reason and I always refund the original postage they paid. If there was a problem (as in your case) I would also refund the postage they paid to return them to me. However if someone opened a case with Ebay to say the goods were not as described Ebay only ask for the cost of the goods to be refunded - which does not seem fair to me.

ok, so do I ask, the message just simply said, im sorry your not happy, please return and on arrival I will refund. Im always worried about seeming cheeky

I would definitely ask. Any decent seller would would refund both your postage amounts.

I hate it when this happens - you will only lose the return postage though, not the original one as paypal will refund that. Look into returning via myhermes as I found them cheaper than Royal Mail recently when using the 25% off new customers discount (voucher on vouchers board) but you will need to add the signature option which I think was an extra £1.15.
YOU MUST SEND IT VIA A RECORDED/SIGNATURE ON ARRIVAL METHOD.

Don't worry, paypal will.

Start a dispute, paypal will tell you to return them for a full refund (price paid + postage costs), the seller will have no control over that, you will only lose out on the cost of returning the boots. Still a pain in the bum though.

it wont, i paid £6 initial postage costs to the seller and itl cost me £5 to return them

Paypal will look into it for you and make you wait a few days.
You will be told to return the boots.
You will need to return the boots via trackable method.
Seller will receive boots.
Paypal will use tracking number to make sure seller has received boots.
Paypal will then refund you the total original price paid - so price of boots plus original postage costs.
You will be out of pocket for the return postage costs,
You leave neg for seller for being so crap.
You move on and buy a lovely pair of boots from elsewhere.
